A truly wonderful dining experience situated right in the center of the bustling old square which is a novelty coming all the way from New Zealand. The restaurant was bustling with a large party singing along upstairs to a live band playing creating a jovial atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and food and drinks service was very fast considering the number of diners. The food was excellent, the Mussels and the Garlic prawn dishes were my favourite, along with the mixed platter starter filled with high quality ingredients including olives and a delicious sausage/meat selection. The Pizzas are superb and the Ribs were also delicious and very tender. The portions were large but I managed to find room for an tasty Crème Brulé to finish up. The quality of the wine selection was excellent especially the Shiraz (from Spain) and topped off with some Passionfruit Kamikaze shots as the night progressed. I didn’t realise you got 4 shots included in the price so was pleasantly surprised when 12 turned up which was great value for money. The decor is tastefully decorated with great attention to detail even down to the wooden lamp shades which I am told were individually crafted by hand by the owners late Grandfather. I was so impressed with the food/atmosphere and hospitality we ended up going back a second night in a row to try more of the menu and we were not disappointed. Highly...
Read moreHaving checked the reviews, we decided to dine at the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was good and the decor had the Spanish feeling from the entrance through to the main room. We ordered a couple of dishes from the set menu and the usual menu. Food was a great disappointment and ruins the name of the Spanish cuisine. Our starter was missing a ham dish, but had extra cheese. Chicken paella was full of rosemary and the chicken was really dry and, weirdly due to the amount of rosemary, tasted blunt. The seafood paella barely had any seafood in it. The meal was nothing like the Spanish cuisine I have tasted many times before. The staff was friendly, however did not know how to deal with a complaint and weren’t very professional in their manner. We left hungry and dissatisfied. It’s a shame as the restaurant could have a potential and has a...
Read moreCzerwona Papryka opened a new place on Wolności due to the fixing of Stary Rynek. We ordered Patatas Bravas and Spanish Tortilla with chicken. It was pretty strange for me to see Spanish tortilla with chicken so I ordered. First Patatas bravas were no bravas, but with Alioli which is a mistake. Second the Spanish tortilla is what you see in the picture, what can be maybe be Mexican but no Spanish. Another person was complaining too at the same time expecting the famous Spanish tortilla everybody knows. I think all that is just mistakes on the names that should be fixed...
