My friends and I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant. Not only was the service terrible, but the food also lacked any flavor. To make matters worse, the restaurant had broken furniture that posed a danger to its guests.
Our visit on Saturday for breakfast quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. Despite arriving at noon and finding a relatively short line, we ended up waiting for over an hour before finally being seated around 1:30 p.m. The entire time we stood in the sweltering heat, we weren't even offered a glass of water.
The most distressing part came when we were finally seated. It became evident that the establishment's furniture was in disrepair, and my pregnant friend was unfortunate enough to receive a faulty chair. The legs of the chair were loose, with missing screws, and as a result, my pregnant friend had a terrible fall. She sustained a significant scratch and a bruise due to the chair's negligence.
What made matters even worse was the staff's response to this incident. Rather than offering immediate assistance, the staff hurriedly left the scene. It was only after we asked that they provided us with water, but even then, their actions were far from considerate. They simply inquired if my friend was okay, with a noticeable lack of genuine concern.
After enduring this ordeal, we finally received our breakfast after an exhausting 2-hour wait. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to any expectations; it was just plain, to say the least. Our dissatisfaction was so profound that we couldn't even finish our meals, leaving half of the food untouched on the table.
In my experiences dining out, I've never encountered such a deplorable level of service and disregard for guest safety. The lack of assistance from the staff during a distressing situation was disheartening, and to add insult to injury, there was no attempt to make amends or apologize for the unfortunate...
Read moreok so baken at mid-week, mid-day lunch? yeah. it's that place. not because it's fancy. not because it's "hot rn" but because i can walk in, hungry, mildly irritated at the world and not want to leave after two minutes
i don't have to play the "do you have a table?" roulette no "maybe if you wait 40 minutes by the fridge" i just show up, sit down, breathe out (and that’s rare 🫨)
i love the staff: not fake-smiley, not trying to upsell me a juice with turmeric and existential crisis they actually vibe they're chill in that "we know what we're doing, you're safe here" way 🥰
☕️ cascara? yeah whatever-the-f* "healthy prosecco" is? also yeah toast? crispy, warm, perfect 🍳. no foam, no edible flowers, just respect and don't even get me started on that rice pudding they deleted from the menu (yes i'm still mad) new rhubarb pancakes? fine. i eat them but it's like replacing your dog with a drawing of a dog not the same (jk, rhubarb pancakes also slap)
and weekends? i don't go. i'm not strong enough too many people trying to have a main character moment over poached eggs i'm good
baken during the week? that's church that's therapy that's me not snapping at a...
