Seeing one of the bagels with hummus named as “Israeli bagel” left a sour taste in my mouth and made us not want to choose this particular cafe. Even if not consciously intended by the cafe, this is the result of the colonial practice of erasure of Arab cultural elements by branding them as own and inherent to the dominant culture. I would encourage the owners of this place to think about this aspect and make a conscious decision whether they want to participate in this erasure or not. I visited a café where I enjoyed a very pleasant espresso. The quality of the coffee was excellent, and the overall ambiance of the place was quite charming. However, I have to dock one star from my rating because of a small service issue. While sitting outside on the terrace, I wasn't informed by the waitress, who passed by three times, that orders needed to be placed inside at the bar.
