Very nice place to eat, with a fair price. The restaurant is charming, clean, and cosy. The personel is extremely welcoming, thanks again.
I tried the Bacalhau com nata, a perfect warm dish for a rainy visit of Braga. I really appreciated it except for the potatoes, which were bland (no salt) and undercooked. I assume they receive them precooked, which is a shame as there is nothing easier to prepare itself. I finished my lunch with a good chocolate mousse (PS: the mint decotation on top of the chocolate mousse is not necessary).
One last thing, each table as a doorbell to call a waiter, which is a nice idea. Unfortunately, when you activate the doorbell, the sound is very loud, and all the guests in the restaurant can hear it ... I let you imagine when the restaurant is full the symphony that creates 😆, it is a useless tool, and as your employees are very competent, they can manage the tables...
Read moreWorst meal of our entire three week stay in Portugal. You know you are in trouble when you sit down at your table and there is a buzzer to call the servers to your table. Service was fairly unresponsive and so I can see why the buzzers were installed. The kitchen was slow and incompetent. We are in Portugal and so we ordered the four cheese appetizer, and what was delivered was four samples grocery store quality common cheeses (US grocery store quality: think Safeway or Kroeger) cut into small cubes. My wife's fettuccine came after forty minutes and my chicken salad (complete with low quality grocery store bought croutons) came more than a half an hour after that. It gets two stars rather than one because the fettuccine was okay and neither of us became ill...
Deliciosos! A garçonete super simpática e agradável, NÓS TAMBÉM.
We asked for a table, and a very friendly girl seated us within 5 minutes—right by the window. We checked the menu, and the prices were great. We ordered bacalhau à brás and a salad. Both were delicious! The waitress was super kind and pleasant, and SO WERE WE. We even wanted to order dessert because the service was so good. But of course, something had to go wrong: when they brought the bill, they tried to charge us SEVEN AND A HALF EUROS for two measly slices of bread, six olives, and two pats of butter. Just to remind you, the cod dish was only 13 euros...
We told them we hadn’t ordered it or even touched it. In Portugal, it’s customary for them to bring bread, olives, and butter as an "appetizer," which they then charge you for like it’s gold. BUT IF YOU DON’T TOUCH IT, THEY DON’T CHARGE YOU.
Here, we spoke to the manager, who said, "If you accept it, you pay for it"—but we never accepted it. We just let them place it on the table AS IS CUSTOMARY.
Very polite, but total scammers. If you don’t order it or touch it, they shouldn’t charge you.
What started as a wonderful meal ended with us feeling cheated, like we were low-class tourists they could push around. Honestly,...
