Café Confeitaria Doce Meu — Restaurant in Coimbra

Delicious and well conceived desserts! We had the passion fruit tart and the Horgado do Bussaco, which the employee informed us is a Portuguese cake that has been revived by this cafe. Both were such a delight and not overly sweet. The shop is clean, quiet, and has a nice bathroom and view of the city center. It’s SO common for pastries to look better than they taste, imo. Not so with the apple tart from Café Confeitaria Doce Meu. Aesthetically, was a work of art. And amazingly, it tasted as good as it looked!! I’ll be thinking about that tart for a long time to come. The service was friendly and it’s a beautiful café. I recommend it heartily.

Very nicely renovated café with A/C. The selection of desserts is great, including traditional Portuguese pastries and a wide variety of cakes. The only downside is the coffee. Unfortunately it is on a pastelaria level - bad beans, wrong recipes, non of the coffees are even close to a modern coffee house drinks and it just tastes bad. For me personally this is a no go, because great dessert with a bad coffee ruins...
