They should maybe consider setting up a music playlist, its tremendously needed. When people go to brunch for the first time and have this unique type of food, its not expected a bland of voices and no other sound to muffle it, people enjoy musical environments, they always have, music and food are some of the best combinations so far.
The other point is the heaviness of the meal, a croissant is fine...but that kinder bueno pancake? super heavy, my companion had to help me through the dish, and we both could barely walk out the establishment. The only good aspect I have to point out is the quality of the strawberries, sweat and fruity, also firm and beautifully cut and placed. When I ordered this pancake I didn't expect it to be a kinder bueno sauce filling and topping the pancake, I was really expecting the crunchiness and flavour that comes when I randomly eat this chocolate, therefore, I do not think it to be a good idea to blend and turn it into a sauce.
Something must be changed about the pancake itself also, it has a fermented flavor, which I am highly not a fan of, and my companion also pointed out the cooking, said it should be left a couple of minutes more on wherever they cook it.
I took an orange juice, a glass, which was the most expensive simple drink I've ever had in my entire existance. The fruit is not that expensive, and if it is the handwork we're looking forward to recognizing, and extra € wouldn't harm, but not this much, its just an orange juice. A glass of it. But then again, its just me.
I also think the staff should incorporate a little bit more in communicating with the costumers. If I had been informed of the aspects of the dish, I would have changed my order right away, hence why host-costumer...
Read moreMy experience at O Croisant in Coimbra was disappointing overall. This was my second visit—the first time they got my order wrong, which I chalked up to an off day. On this visit, I decided to have lunch while getting some work done. Unfortunately, the staff informed me I couldn’t use my laptop at the table, effectively telling me to either leave or put it away, which felt unwelcoming. It would’ve been easier to understand if there was a sign to that effect but to seat me and then tell me that I could no longer use my laptop while waiting to order felt discriminatory and when I asked why as I was dining alone they just said I couldn’t. To add to the frustration, they were out of the wine I ordered.
On the positive side, the brunch food itself was good the first time but I can’t speak to this second time as I didn’t stay, so if you’re visiting with a group and don’t need to use a laptop or tablet, you might enjoy it. However, if you’re hoping for a working lunch or a place to get things done while eating, this is definitely not the spot. The lack of flexibility and the less-than-stellar customer service left me...
Read moreKroisant in Coimbra is a wonderful spot for brunch – fresh food, beautiful presentation, and a relaxed atmosphere right in the center of the city.
I tried the salmon and avocado toast with poached eggs, and it was excellent. The bread was fresh and crisp, the avocado perfectly ripe, the salmon delicate, and the eggs cooked just right. The dish was topped with a flavorful sauce and herbs that gave it a nice balance without being heavy. Everything looked beautiful on the plate and tasted just as good.
To drink, I had a fresh orange juice and a smoothie with berries and chia seeds. Both were refreshing and full of flavor – a perfect match for a sunny day. The drinks are clearly made with good ingredients and add to the feeling of having a nourishing brunch rather than just a quick bite.
The atmosphere is modern, bright, and welcoming. It feels cozy without being crowded, and the design is simple but stylish. Service was also very friendly and efficient – the staff greet you with a smile and make sure you feel...
