Tried daily special rice with octopus, goat braised in red wine, and another daily special of pork with potato chunks and silver small clams. The food was delicious. Octopus was so tender, as was the goat. The pork dish was great as well. We appreciated the kind advice of the chef/owner as to what we should order. As at many other restaurants in Portugal, I wished that sides included veggies/salads rather than just rice/fries/potatoes. We saw a couple other tables raving about the house red wine. Didn't love that everyone was automatically given bread and cheese which they'd charge you for unless you sent it back as see did. The bill was also incorrect as we were charged 12EUR for the octopus dish rather than 10EUR as listed on the menu. We were glad we arrived as they opened as a couple regulars filled up the tables rapidly and there was only really space for 3 other tables that walked in. Instead, you are surrounded by happy warm affectionate people generating a terrific happy buzz. The food is simple traditional fare, but very well cooked and tasty. We enjoyed the goat and the dorade (bream) very much. The owner pointed us to the right things and if you know a tiny bit of Spanish or Italian, you can easily get by.
