Apartamento T2, Av. Fernão de Magalhães 2, 3000-392 Coimbra, Portugal, hosted by Hotel Internacional De Coimbra Five of us stayed at this apartment from the 1st to the 4th August, 2024. This apartment is located very close to Coimbra B railway station and to a bus stop. Hotel Internacional De Coimbra can be seen just across the road when exiting from the station. Check in is done here and keys obtained for the apartment which is a short distance away. There is the advantage of a mini supermarket nearby and many restaurants and shops are also located around the area. To access the lift, one has to climb a set of stairs. The stairs to the top are like those of a spiral staircase (broad at one end and narrow at the other) and one has to be careful when walking up or down them. The rooms are kind of small and there is only one bathroom. I did not like the layout of the flat as one enters into the living room and on the right are the kitchen and bathroom. Imagine coming out of the bath and walking through guests in the living room down the very creaky corridor on the left to one of the two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has two single beds. The pull-out sofa bed in the living room is much too small for a teenager to sleep on. There is only one air conditioning unit which is similar to the ones in hotel rooms located in the living room and it does not cool the whole flat. There are no fans for the other rooms but portable heaters were available. The windows did not have net curtains although the evidence of hooks on the frames indicated that they did exist at some point in time. The kitchen had a dishwasher and a large fridge but lacked the very essential washing machine. The cooker was very oddly fitted with the control knobs facing towards the wall. This could lead to someone getting burnt while trying to use the control knobs. All the bedrooms and the living room were fitted with what appeared to be 20” TV’s. While tablet soap was provided in the bathroom, the soap dispenser in the shower did not contain any liquid soap. All the doors were fitted with locks but no keys were supplied leading to a privacy issue, especially with the bathroom as one could peep in through the key hole. I reported the absence of a bathroom key but it appears that they failed to understand my point and were emphasising that the door would stay shut if pushed hard. Is it that difficult and costly to buy and fit a small bolt to the door on the inside for the privacy of occupants? As I had obtained this apartment through Airbnb, I reported the matter to them but the host did no appear to take any interest in resolving the matter. These are the facts about the location and the property, so think carefully if it will meet your...
Read moreGetting there is easy and the place is on the main street to all atractions (close and far). The guest house looks old but in good conditions, very simple but the staff is very friendly and they all speak english! My room was a total disappointment. The only window offered a nice view from the staff's kitchen and bathroom, and the shower was built inside the old closet. Remodelled but functional. The bed was old and noisy and the mattress wasn't conforteble at all. But overall it was a good stay because I didn't spent much time in the room so...||They don't offer a guest kitchen, so make sure you have what you need to eat and drink when you get there because on sundays only restaurants are open. There's a market nearby were you can buy fresh food, fruits and something to drink. My personal hacking story for rooms with no mini fridge is to buy packs of ice and put it in the sink so you can cool...
Read moreThe room was actually a loft, and we are unable to even sit in bed due to a very down ceiling. My head struck the roof multiple times, and the bathroom did not have light working . The door of the bathroom did not have a lock and remained open all night, creating an unpleasant situation. The staff in the morning knocked on our door a few minutes before checkout time, which was quite surprising as we were standing on the doorstep. So I will not recommendat all. We couldn'tfind drinkingwater...
