Wow, where do I even start?! This place was amazing - it gave me some fine dining vibes. The food was beautifully presented, the service quick, the waiters were out if this world ito professionalism and making you feel like a very valued customer. The place had good music and atmosphere which also makes it great to just grab a drink here as well if you don’t want to eat.

So, the food - I loved every dish we were served. The food was really tasty and I personally felt great value for money.

The best of all we had was the pork cheeks which were topped with mashed patatoes and an amazing sauce. We also had some good smoked fish salad, pork and veg gyozas and tempora prawn. I am not big on seafood but appreciated the fish dishes.

We also had some good local beer. I had the Sagres lager which I would recommend as it had a very tasty honey flavour and smell.

So this was not the cheapest place, but also considering the quality of the food, also not the most expensive place we have eaten in Portugal. If you are on a budget I would recommend buying a main and sharing it to at least just experience the good food.

The mains were more or less 15£ and the starters 8-9£.

They also provided us with a in-house cherry shot/drink before we paid which was delicious (and free).

I would without a doubt go back if I am ever in Faro again. Highly...

I wish I could say something positive, but I got sick after eating in this place. Not sure what it was, the food tasted fresh.

Response to the owner: Last night we were at your place and we ordered a couple of tapas. One of those was tuna tapas. After a few minutes we started eating the tuna, my wife felt she was getting an allergic reaction and she stopped eating it and she had to take an antiallergy pill. My mouth's rooftop felt a little numb, but I travel very often and rarely get food sick so I continued eating some more tuna thinking the sensation will go away. We spoke with the server as soon as my wife felt the reaction and asked him what was in the dish and for what he said everything seemed fine. When I got back to my hotel, my eyes and my neck got very red, and I started having palpitations, and spent a long time on the toilet. I have never taken an antiallergy medicine, but this time I had to take one to feel better. So, I'm not making things up, and you should talk to the server and find out why we had this reaction from something we eat...

Very disappointing. Staff were constantly trying to up sell more food and more expensive, already over priced wine. The restaurant which should have been lovely and cosy and intimate, wasn’t. The door was open all the time and the waitress complained to guests when they closed it to keep warm. This was awful to watch, as was Another waiter who moved three different separate couples from the seat nearest the door because they were freezing but continued to place new customers at that table!!! The food was lovely and tasty but two of our party were served and finished before the other meals arrived and we had to ask for that other food. When it arrived it was wrong and very tiny ( these was not tapas dishes just encase you think I don’t understand tapas) at one point when we ordered two of a dish the brash waiter said no you don’t want two of them, one will be enough.. 45 mins later we’re ordering another and this didn’t arrive until our meal was over. All in all a really rubbish experience. There are many much better...

Yesterday we had dinner at 8 Tapas. All in all it was a good experience. We had to wait a little until the service came to get our order but the food arrived very shortly after ordering. Also the service was friendly and gave great recommendations. We were two people and had the beef carpaccio, burratina salad, tuna tataki, the mini burgers and the dom rodrigo for dessert. The beef carpaccio was very good but there was not a lot of meat. The burratina salad was also very good but missed a little more salt to combine the sweet and salty flavours. The tuna tataki was very nice. Personally I was disappointed by the mini burgers as they were not very special and lacked some flavour. The dessert was a house specialty and definitely surprised me. I have not had a dessert like this before and can definitely recommend it. They have a large selection of wine and the servers seem to know a lot about the selection as well. The tapas, including one bottle of wine and two cocktails came out to 120€ with tip.

Suggested by a friend, 8 Tapas highly met all my expectations. We actually made a reservation for 17:30 but the restaurants started services at 18:00 and we could easily find a table. So do check their opening hours if you’re close and try making a reservation since the place is quite popular. We got a big mixed platter with Portuguese hams and cheese, which was huge and delicious. If you’re just up for a snack, 2 people can easily get full with this one. We ordered the Fried Squids and it was super good. Plus we got the Veggie Pork Gyozas that comes with its own sweet sour and spicy sauce, as well as the most famous Pork Cheek. The Pork Cheek was a real delight, it was easily in top 3 of the most tender meats I’ve ever eaten. Baked in oven and served with a creamy potato mash topped with caramelized onions, this dish has been unforgettable. I completely recommend this place!
