We were sent here by recommendation from two lovely ladies from the US we had met in Porto, forgot about it but stumbled across the restaurant whist walking around the old town and it was worth every euro (not that many euros). Firstly, get yourself a big ol’ litre or however many ml of post mix coke because obviously post mix is GOAT. And if you like deep fried cheese then boy have you come to the right place!! The Gouda and strawberry jam really makes you appreciate how well cheese and fruits are paired together. Drink prices were very reasonable so can only assume food much the same. On our visit we were fortunate enough to be entertained, nay serenaded, by a local street entertainer who looked a little like the chef Gennaro Contaldo, but could cook up any song in his eclectically pleasing repatoire. Took requests from the patrons of this and other bars in the vicinity and gave splendid renditions varying from The Beatles, Oasis, Bob Dylan, Dean Martin and on discovering we were from Wales, a bit of Tom Jones - Green Green Grass of Home. Read moreVery VERY disappointed. This place was very busy the three nights we were in Faro, so we had to try it. However, we were not impressed at all! Yes it was cheap, but unless you're going for the beer, DON'T GO! We didn't get the food we ordered, nachos were just tortilla chips with liquid guacamole containing no avocado and liquid cheese on the side. As we were leaving we saw a chef drop one of the rolls on the floor, pick it up and put it back on the plate. They were also not changing gloves between touching smoked salmon and other items.
