Hidden gem! I was very surprised to find a bar in Funchal that caters to the craft beer crowd. Well, this is it! Seven taps of craft beer and a cooler full of cans and bottles. A wide range of beers that rotate, and they have wine and cocktails for nonbeer drinkers.

A very neat feature is that you can see their live selection on the app "Untapped," which is worth downloading and checking out. This makes it simple to see a keg you are interested in trying; you can run there before it disappears.

Another surprise is that they have the best Mexican food I have found on the island so far. Giant nachos, quesadillas, and burritos—I would return for the food alone. Don't get me wrong—I will return for the beer—but I was just saying the food was that good.

Funchal Taproom is slightly hidden away from the main streets, but dont let that fool you. This place rocks.

Offering a nice selection of craft beers, its a great place to hang out for a drink. The food that is on offer on top is excellent. Wine can be ordered by the glass too, and in general, prices are fair.

We had the tacos and a burrito to share, and especially the tacos were simply fantastic. There is a choice for the meat (chicken, pork, beef or veggie) option per taco/quesadilla/burritto. We had the beef and it was very very tasty.
