A little gem of a place! Staff really make it 5* for a family.
The pork steak and fish risotto we tried was genuinely good food for the price. It wasn’t trying to be fancy, but was well presented and very well cooked/ tasty. Help with ordering and then food came fast.
It looked quiet and empty inside, which drew us in, though the few people outside eating incredible looking dishes with smiles made us stop and consider how hungry we were.
The staff were so friendly, instantly helpful. They didn’t look upon our child as a problem and we’re very attentive to him, never leaving hot things in reach etc. they tolerated the odd table cloth pulling moment with smiles and entertained him with trying lush banana.
We even got a useful little pronunciation lesson which was very useful!
This isn’t a 5* in a fine dining way, it’s a 5* I’m going back here all week sort of way.

Read moreWalked by this restaurant on our way to another and we’re invited in. Came back and we’re hosted by Mario who directed us to the fresh fish on offer for the day. Discussed the menu and he suggested the squid which we could share, olives and Madeiran bread with garlic butter. We selected two fish choices from the fish counter and menu both “without bones”. We were really treated to some fabulous tastes. The squid was soft tender tasty and well complimented with good quality olive oil and herbs. We had the wrath fish and dorada, with chips ( real potato) and a selection of vegetables. Absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked by Elizabet, lovely tastes of the different fish freshly cooked. As an aside, four glasses of house wine for 14€ was really good value. We felt looked after and assisted with choices by Mario who declared that he orders with customers the way he would order for himself. Attentive but not obtrusive, helpful and observant. I opted for the sea bass which was probably one of the best pieces of sea bass I’d ever had. My husband had the black pork and he absolutely demolished the plate. I wish I took photos as the food was so good! We then had the cream caramel which was absolutely divine and they gave us some extra dessert on the house. The gentleman serving was so lovely!
