Why Not? Restaurant Grill — Restaurant in Funchal

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Why Not?, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the restaurant's modern ambiance. The decor was sleek and stylish, with contemporary lighting and artwork that gave the space a sophisticated feel. The service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food. It was outstanding. Dined at this restaurant with my partner, they took 15 minutes to take our drinks order. Drinks and appetisers were okay but appetisers where definitely not cooked from fresh - I had the ravioli and could taste that it was not fresh. The chicken dish that I had for main was slightly raw in the middle with about a quarter of the chicken being inedible as it was just bone and gristle. My partner had the mixed grill which was not cooked to standard and has made him very poorly, the sausage was raw in the middle and the short rib didn’t look cooked at all. They did take the sausage away to cook it more… but this resulted in it being over cooked and inedible. The chef cannot cook a mixture of meats to be served at the same time and this has since resulted in my partner getting food poisoning. When we asked for a potion of fries as an additional side, these were not cooked either. A busy restaurant lots of tourists, food is not bad some dishes are small portions but good taste and well presented, service is good until 10 pm then all waiters disappeared and stayed only 1 with quite some tables, plus he as to serve the owners and family table and leaving clients waiting for desert or to pay, also make sure you check your bill carefully because they over charge you for things you did not eat or drink , I know by experience been in this restaurant at least 5 or 6 times. I am local not a tourist and they over charged me 2 times, once for a botle of wine and 2 coffees second time plus the service after 10 pm is non existent today was the last time in this place. I will never go back there and I made that clear today 20 September 2022 to the waiter , I wonder how many times they over charge me or the many tourists that come there, is more choices along the avenue to eat, so I as a google guide I do not recomend this restaurant, and if you go check your bill...
