Cafeteria Oceano — Restaurant in Lagos

We are kind of loyal customers and we also tip. But never again! This morning, around 8:55, rain was pouring and it was just convenient for us to find refuge and breakfast at Oceano. We tried to get in from the entrance in the back, as we usually do. The door was closed, which made sense as it was raining, but it was unlocked and we could see the lights were on inside and there were people, so we opened the door and a few seconds later a guy from inside ran to the door with a rather annoyed face saying that the place was still closed and didn't we understand it given that the door was closed?! It was 8:55 am, it was pouring outside... not a word on when the place would open to the public, let alone any attempt at asking for some patience until the place would open, or pity on us because of the rain. We now see this is perfectly consistent with other reviews (abysmal service) and understand that the only reason this business still "operates" is the great location. Honestly would give this no stars if I could. 5 people behind the counter talking the whole time talking , asked them could we get served they said no there colleague nobody ever came. Went a second time they actually laughed and said we have to wait . Still nobody so we got up and left said no we are not waiting . While I walked past one of the girls with glasses was staring at me given me dirty looks on the street, shouting at me we are can serve with you an attitude. I said no we are ok you are very rude here, she shouted aggressively I’m not rude. We walked away and she said with sircasm “good night “ . only rude people we encountered during our week long stay in lagos - asked for an ice cream that was advertised on the board outside, girl made a confused phase and just shook her said and said no then acted as if it was an inconvenience that we didn’t have a second choice lined up immediately. Gave her the money and then she asked if we had the cents - i started to look in my purse to which she rolled her eyes and walked away, once again acting as if it was an inconvenience. I understand staff is young, working in the heat till late but i have worked similar jobs and it really isn’t hard to not be rude to a customer. I have also been to MUCH busier ice cream kiosks around bigger cities europe and never encountered staff...
