I can honestly say I have never encountered a more rude server in my whole life than I met yesterday at this establishment. They were obviously understaffed, however we were quite happy to wait almost an hour for our food and drinks and never complained. After our meal we waited about 15 mins before asking a passing waiter for our bill, waited another 10 mins when the older 'gentleman' came to clear the table behind us, I asked again for the bill and he didn't answer. I thought he hadn't heard and I asked again. Well, he launched into a tirade about only having 2 hands and unlike myself he does not have a privileged life. He was shouting at me in front of the other diners. I was shocked before responding that he has no idea what my life is like. If he can't cope with a shift in a busy restaurant without insulting the diners, find another job....

I went into the venue and the waiter blanked me so I thought I must have to go inside to order my drink if I want to dine in. I ordered my drink and then awkwardly asked if it was okay for me to take a seat the waiter became anoyed and rolled his eyes at me, still completely confused as to why this was even an issue, sorry I want to have my drink at the venue ? I then said is there a problem with me having my drink here and he told me off for not having take away ? The other server could see I was feeling really awkward and jsut wanted to leave so he took over and was very nice and made a good drink. The man who was rude then came to apologise and when I explained that it wasn’t very polite to roll eyes at a customer he got defensive and wouldn’t stop talking at me so I just had to cut him off and leave. Honestly the rudest server...

THE BEST OCTOPUS dish of my LIFE. My friend and I traveled from Australia and had dinner at this beautiful restaurant and had the most divine experience. The food was incredible and so was the sangria. What was more memorable was the staff and the treatment we had. The waitor was so passionate about the food and you could tell that watching us devour the dish gave him as much joy as us eating it. We came back the following day to have a sangria on the beach nearby. They gave us their sangria cups and jugs to take down to the beach (which they don't usually do). When we returned it we ended up having dinner there again to try the rest of the menu. Again, we were amazed! This place is a must...

We really enjoyed our dinner yesterday evening at São Roque. We were being served by Jimmy. He advised us to go for the Pulvo (squid), garnished with local grown sweet potatoes, among others. That was an amazing dish. Spot on! Very tender squid tentacles. Also the starters were well balanced in taste. The dishes were beyond our expectations, usually we are not easily impressed. Very friendly staff, funny as well. We had a great time! ~ Carole & Niels (from the Netherlands)

Nice restaurant with amazing view of the beach and sea. Lots of fresh fish wich you can see in the fridge. If you order, the show you the fish. Menu prices are for a kilogram, (€50), but feel free to ask the weight. The seabass was perfect, 650 grams. Not cheap (€30) but totally worth it! Friendly staff who speak English.
