Augusto Lisboa - Belém — Restaurant in Lisbon

It was the first time in a while that I go to a place that showed up on instagram and it’s actually great. The service from the beginning to the end was just wonderful, everyone so nice and polite. The atmosphere was charming and quiet. The place is just beautiful and nicely done. Now the food was something else let me tell you. I ordered the brunch menu with the ham toast and the banana bread, an americano and a mimosa. It’s worth it every single cent. The price is regular but honestly I don’t remember being that full after a brunch. The toast was magnificent, the bread delicious, the eggs on point, the sauce was tomato and garlic (extra points to the waiter that explained everything on the toast), home made cream cheese and the ham was omg good. The banana bread was delicious, the perfect moist, the perfect balance of sweetness, and the home made peanut butter was wonderful. The coffee, even though I always order americano, I must say I’m quite a judge on this topic; it was good, not burnt, perfect size and amount and good taste. The mimosas were cute and on point. Keep it going, this place...

The space is a bit tiny and noisy. there was only the window seat available that time, but the table behind me was by a group of 4 and they put their bag on the floor, leaving no space for my chair. But generally the cafe is quite small and packed

One of the waitress was very impatient to me ( friendly to others) when I ordered coffee latte, she asked : and milk? Because her accent is strong, I didn’t understand her “milk” so she had to repeat twice, I think this offended her. I still didn’t understand why she asked me about milk because I ordered a coffee latte, of course there’s milk. She seemed very impatient saying: yeah but what kind of milk you want?! She could have asked so in the beginning, making her first sentence clearly enough so that I wouldn’t have offended her so much

When I had difficulties to access the wifi, I asked for her assistance. She insisted that’s the password. But when I asked another waitress, she admitted they have trouble with their wifi. So I canceled my order and left.

I feel sorry to bother that waitress so much and I’ll never go...

Food was correct but only 1 vegan dish :O, it would be great to incorporate an other option such as a bowl with tofu or chickpeas. Service was ok at first then, we could see the waitresses were stressed as it was a Sunday and people were queueing. However we felt the organization was not great, therefore mistakes were made (table, waiting for outside etc...), One waitress makes us felt guilty as another placed us on the outside table but other were waiting (after us).

However matcha was not good at all, and cold we asked to have it warmed up and they even didn't put milk back. Therefore you can feel an atmosphere were they want to make money on your back. Super expensive for the quality of the service, and food.

However that's my proper opinion everyone can have a different one :)! Happy to have tried, but I will not recommend this place. Other brunch places are way much tastier and welcoming.
