We went as it was close to our place and the reviews were awesome (at the time of writing this is #66 of all restaurants in Lisbon). Also we wanted some other than Portuguese cuisine for a change. The place is what you would expect from small Indian restaurant in Europe, cheap materials, Indian music, really long menu with lots of spelling mistakes :) and friendly staff. We tried Lamb Madras, Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer with side of plain Naans. The Madras sauce was tasty and they did prepare it very spicy for us on request. The lamb meat was tough and chewy. The Chicken Tikka was very average in taste, meat OK. Paneer I would skip next time, lacking flavor. Naans were not really great, but not too bad, but was more like soft pita bread rather than Naan. I lived in India and I have tried many Nepalese restaurants in various cities, so probably my bar for the taste is a bit high, if you are not experienced in this cuisine, you might find it OK, just did not live up to my expectations, considering this place is ranked in Top 100 restaurants...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about this place. The food was so good, I had one of those moments where your eyes close as you’re chewing because the flavors are just that amazing. Yea, like that. It doesn’t happen often but it happened here!
I had the steamed vegetable momos, chicken tikka masala, lemon rice (recommended by server), garlic naan, and a cup of hot green tea. All were fantastic. I’d never had momos before but reviews were good so I tried them. Wow! I’m so glad I did. They were delicious! and the sauce…oh, so tasty. I don’t like a lot of spice and they were able to accommodate my mild spice preferences with no problem without compromising flavor.
The people were very friendly. The service was great. The atmosphere was quiet, cozy, and relaxing. As a solo traveler, I appreciated this place for the service, price, location, and atmosphere.
If you’re in the area, you should eat here. I’m hoping to return before I leave the city. There are a few other items I’d...
Read moreI sat there with a friend from Bengladesh and ordered 2 talis and two lassis. After tasting, I told to my friend that I remembered Nepalese food was better and tasty in my souvenir. I even prepared a Nepalese dish with a Nepalese once (dumplings and also homemade noodle accompanied with sautés vegetables). The vegetables of the tali lacked of flavours, the dahl was also okay but not super. The worst was the potatoes for my friend who found it tasteless. For me, it was the rice. The texture seems like it has been already cooked and put in the microwave. The taste also of the rice was not super. Very dry and with not so much taste. My friend confirmed me it was mostly Indian food than Nepalese. Only a few dishes are really from Nepal. The vast majority of the tourists don't know the difference (and it's very sad). They don't have even references of the taste of a Nepalese restaurant. Go there with an expert. At least you will spot the Nepalese food from...
