I love this place! I have been there in 2020, before the pandemic, and now in 2023. The fado show is great, I really like the artists I've seen there. They always bring some interesting songs. The food is typical portuguese and they have a good variety and fair prices. The ambience is also very nice. Nice inside and outside area.

The only thing that should improve is that the staff could have taken the orders before the fado show. They start to take orders when the music started. Also they could be more sensitive and place people that are not interested in listening the fado in the outside area of the restaurant, when it is possible, or at least tell them that they should ( at least try) to stay silent during the fado. That would be more nice with the artists and with people that go there to also enjoy the music.

I still love this place though and I will go there next time I go to Lisboa! :)

ps: Unfortunately I just took a picture of the desert. It was delicious as everything...

Great authentic Portuguese place. When I first read some of the reviews I was a bit skeptical because I live nearby and every time I walk by the food seemed good. Decided to have a ~20 person birthday celebration here and can now say I am very happy about this decision. The food is good some dishes stood out more than others but nothing was bad. The service was honest and friendly although clumsy at times (granted we were a large group so I will give the staff the benefit of the doubt) Regarding the other reviews about scams and dishonest prices, be more accustomed to the place you are in and understand that when dealing with a language barrier there is room for misunderstanding rather then the staff running a scam. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for a good Portuguese meal accompanied by fado. Friendly reminder, trying a word or two in Portuguese will always make the experience better for both you and...

The restaurant was suggested by our Free Walking tour Rodrigo (which I also recommend, this guy is fantastic) and I honestly don't understand the low reviews here.

The food was absolutely amazing! I had a grilled cod and I do recommend it, it was delicious! The grilled potatoes on a side were perfect as well and the dish was also accompanied by some other side I didn't know (something like beans with couscous and spinach maybe?) but I loved it.

I recommend the white home made wine, it was an ideal addition to the cod

I also loved that the restaurant didn't seem like a touristic spot and was more of a place where locals would go as well.

It also has fado shows, but I was during the lunch time there and can't say anything about that

The service is very friendly and the waiter also speaks English

A great place I'd recommend to anyone to visit to have a lovely...

On my first visit to Lisbon in 2021, me and my hostel buddies were looking for a place to experience fado and were shocked at the prices in Alfama. This place is close to our hostel (This is Lisbon Hostel), I went in and asked about their fado show and was told there was no minimum. What an experience, and we saved ourselves some serious money. The fado singers included this lady and gentleman who, we were told, were stars in their day. We even got to buy their CDs, which I still listen to when I feel saudade for Portugal. I don't understand why there are comments saying that this is a tourist trap. The food was OK but not the best. I suggest you go elsewhere for dinner then come over for drinks to Santo André.
