Interesting experience with a bartender. He gave me the option to speak spanish, which is my mother tongue, but man he got triggered when he realized I also spoke english. Saying he didnt know why americans spoke in spanish instead of english, (he doesnt know there are americans whose mother tongue is spanish, so its more comfortable) and saying that its rude if I ask locals to speak spanish. Idk what beef he has with spanish speaking people lol but he could have just refused to speak in spanish and focused in english. He could have saved himself the cringe and the bother (He did offer me the option after all). I have no ill will to him as he seems naive and proud of his country its just like wow you got so mad at a question. I heard the poor soul complaining as I left lol. And apparently galicians really want to become part of portugal, he assured me. But I have to confirm this...
Read moreThis bar is situated on a raised terrace just off of a busy square near to the castle of St George.
The steep narrow steps from the square lead up to the narrow terrace with seating for no more than 20 people with the majority of the tables being for 2.
The views are nice but only look one way. If you are on the western side of the terrace you get to view a bush. It's a nice bush though!
The menu is small and includes basic bar snacks. The wraps are small and most dishes come with crisps (potato chips).
The burger and the hot dogs are basic but tasty. The chorizo was nice but again it's basic so hard to mess up.
Overall it's pricey for what you get. 40 euros for 4 of us for a drink and a snack. Wouldn't go back but it is better than the snack van on the square below. Staff were...
Read moreAn all-around disappointing experience. Some of the rudest service I ever experienced: we arrived and sat down at an empty table, only to be screamed at by the waiter telling us he needed to clean the table first (which definitely wouldn’t have been possible with us being sat down 😉). We then waited at the entrance for 10+ minutes, while no one bothered to actually clean the table. We thought we got lucky when the waiter finally picked up a cloth - however, he only proceeded to clean someone else‘s table, completely ignoring us.
The whole experience was rounded off by the waiter behind the bar swearing at us in Portugese, which our Portugese friend swiftly translated for us. Needless to say we left without actually consuming anything, and I would urge everyone else to...
