We had a great, almost private experience at this beautiful place. The staff were friendly and welcoming and, as English speakers were able to help us through the visit. From the man on reception to the guide who showed us around everything was handled professionally. The introduction to the collection and the history of the museum was clear and succinct with the guide available at all times to answer any and all questions we had along the way. I can easily understand why it needs to be an accompanied visit - the place is full of delicate and precious items and having observed the lack of respect of tourists in other places of arts/culture I would be reluctant to leave this beautiful collection to the good sense of visitors. Don’t be afraid to ask for information - the staff are knowledgeable and very willing to share...
Read moreNice little Museum of Portoguise Art and Furniture. It has to be said that this was build out of a private collection- so it is not exactly build up like a museum - more like what the former collector liked. Entrance is 4,-€ and a20% discount if you have a Lisabon Card. The collection has some nice pieces of furniture and art and it is shown in a nice old house. A complete tour might take you 45 minutes. If you are interested in 1600 - 1800 furniture and art this is a place to visit. See...

The various rooms showcase a different era and style of decoration. The gift shop is filled with beautiful, handmade treasures. Make this part of your...
