From the moment we were greeted at the door, it opened the door to a great night of good food and service. The lady who took our orders was friendly and polite, also did a great recommendation on the mocktail and food. We ordered the mussels, octopus main, veal medallions and the braised beef ribs. Too bad they ran out on the choc cube dessert
Food. I’m on the fences with the mussels. My husband liked it but my son and I not so much. The sauce is a little light on taste but what bothered me was the taste of couple mussels. Had an odour to it. It’s fully cooked, maybe it’s just the type of mussels here. I’m more used to clean tasting mussels than one that tasted different. It’s not over cooked and my man finished it anyway.
The mains were down my alley. The veal were superb and so was the octopus. Yum! The octopus was cooked perfectly and the plating was excellent! The braised beef was indeed tender but somehow it was a dish that I will not rave about. Like another reviewer, I too thought it’s missing something. I think it needed more gravy sauce or something more contrasting like fresh orange slices or even pomengrates to give it a more exciting taste element. The puree that came with it was also under seasoned. Could improve on this dish. I almost wished I had ordered the duck instead.
Overall, still enjoyed our meal and service rendered. The mocktail was a good size portion, and I meant in liquid form, not filled with chunks of ice. in fact the best portion I had to date from Barcelona to Lisbon, which finally made me feel like I wasn’t being ripped off for drinks. I highly recommend the mocktail and props to the staff who made the drink. Might I add that he was also very meticulous and took pride in his work. I watched him wiping dry the clean glasses and he actually hold the glasses up against the light to ensure no watermarks and print stains presumably. Now that’s...

Read moreTimes have changed, it's no longer enough to just hace good meals, is not enough, not only the finest ingredients, incredible creativity and refinement, perfect preparation, nowadays a connection, a bond to a place is needed.. that's what I felt at Bono.
I was one step ahead, I confess, having dinned with friends that had already visited the space, I sort of knew what I was coming for.. right from the start the space and the way you are greeted already tells you are welcome, the attention throughout the whole meal - and it took us a while.. - was excellent, that is already a must for me.
The nutrition.. they achieve something that is hard, to have a wide selection of rather classical plates with that unique different approach that will leave you tasting, smelling, trying, one and another time to acquire the full lot of flavours and textures. I have tried quite a few dishes, entrees and deserts, all were excellent.
The space and the environment, it is lovely, spacious and comfortable, it is quite versatile, you can go from a casual friends dinner to a more intimate experience with your other half to even that family special occasion.
I highly recommend Bono, will most definitely be returning.....
