Hmm. Where to start? I mean the DJ was good the drinks were ok and not overpriced. But Jesus, the toilets were disgusting (I told the staff twice that the urinals were blocked and overflowing, but was any action taken? No). It was like a swimming pool of piss in there... ...and as a club pretending to be gay friendly (I mean given the Tom of Finland-esque murals in the gents, I can only assume) why the security staff got so upset - only after half an hour of me doing this- because I was very camply and harmlessly dancing with the curtains on the stage behind the DJ is beyond me (the DJ didn't care, and the dancing punters loved it). Unfortunately, the security staffer was unnecessarily aggressive with us and I had to employ all my diplomacy skills to calm him down and come to a point where we could shake hands amicably before we parted. My advice, if you are thinking of visiting Pensao Amor, if you are gay and want to express yourself on the dancefloor: avoid this place at all costs. As it seems homophobia is alive and well amongst the security staff.

It's a really nice place to visit, the ambiance is unique and worth seeing, it's provocative for quite open-minded. The prices are fine, the waiters are tired but quite polite and attentive. It was a bit strange to get a the bill right after getting the first order but later you understand that it makes sense as in the crowd they can easily loose lots of money. However I wouldn't suggest this place after midnight for those who come to enjoy the ambience because it becomes a usual mess of any discobar (loud, crowded, too drunk people etc). Apart of that I'd like to tell about unpleasant for us situation: they don't have food and two of us (we were four) went outside to have something. When they returned the security guy didn't let them in. And our friends even had their belongings inside. No explanations helped. So we had nothing to do but also leave the place. I told the security guy that it's not proper and didn't get even sorry in return, but an arrogant smirk. It was nice to know this unique place but unlikely I'll come again

This hotel was so much fun! A former brothel turned hotel but kept the "theme" with every room being unique and dedicated to a former working girl. They put great care in every single detail and making you feel welcomed. It was really an experience rather than a stay. My only two negative comments is that for me personally there was overcommunication (I received tons of emails about checkin, transportation, available services, then on top whatsapp messages)...it was a bit much. Also it is located above a club that is also part of the establishment and on Lisbon's party street so if you are really sensitive to sound bring earplugs. The rooms themselves are very well sound isolated but you still hear the club which goes until 2 to 4 am daily. All in all, definitely recommend and would visit again.

Usually when traveling I won’t go to the same spot more than twice to venture, but I was in Lisbon for 5 days and came here every night. Best night life I’ve ever experienced. The diversity of people across the world, the friendly bartenders, classic 80’s music, the disco ball towards the bathroom, the balcony. I also lost my drivers license here and I was fortunate enough to get it back my last night before traveling again.Thank you to the kind staff Being from NYC, I’ve always held it the highest of standards, but after going to “Pensão Amor”, I can honestly say this has been my favorite bar/club I have ever been to in the world. So many good memories in such a short time.

Great atmosphere, cool decor. We visited this place by chance one evening and really enjoyed our time. The cocktails were delicious with a variety of choices all with unique flavours and not packed with sugar or overly sweet. The music was really cool, had a jazz/electronic vibe which was quite different but really good. Music wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t speak also which was nice. Only critique is we kept asking if there was a show, the stage was setup and read while we were there they sometimes have live music, and kept getting a “maybe”. We waited for a while and nothing happened so that was a little annoying

Great atmosphere and cheeky decor. Music at the right volume. Long queues at the bar due to the number of cocktails the bar staff are making. Table service is available so if you can get a table, you can relax while you wait for your drinks. We visited on a Sunday night and it was crammed. The late night finish (3am) was what attracted us as we were staying in a sleepy area of Lisbon where all the bars closed at 12pm. The ‘Carmen’ was the stand out cocktail for us; gin based deliciousness! I would happily return
