Best vegan restaurant in Lisbon🌱
We had an amazing lunch at Kong, Lisbon and it was truly a highlight of our trip!
Starter : We started with the Fried “Cuttlefish” made from eryngii mushrooms with alioli and lemon. It was super tasty, with a texture really close to calamari.
🥤 The juice of the day (pineapple, orange, mint) was fresh and delicious.
Main dishes : I had the Mediterranean “Salmon” (tofu, mashed spinach, grated potatoes, sesame). It was absolutely perfect, flavorful, beautifully textured, and surprisingly close to salmon in taste and look. Everything on the plate was delicious, especially the blue sauce that made it even prettier. My partner had the Oven-Baked “Ribs” made from seitan with red wine sauce, mashed potatoes and grilled Bimi. It was also super tasty, rich, and comforting.
For dessert, we shared the Pineapple Carpaccio with lime zest and coconut ice cream, the perfect fresh and balanced sweet ending.🍍
The plates were beautifully presented, the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. The waiter was kind, attentive and smiling, and even the chef came to greet people at the tables, ask for feedback and answer questions, such a lovely touch!
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, well ventilated, clean, and even the bathrooms are spotless and thoughtfully equipped. Prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of food and service.
💗💗💗 Absolutely a must-visit in Lisbon, we highly recommended. Definitely a...
Read moreWe looked up which Vegan restaurant was best to visit I'm central Lisbon and the options on Kong's menu was far too tempting. We arrived and were quickly seated, our server was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the service. The decor is nice and really plays on its theme, with jungle type designs and a large gorilla which can be seen on entry. For our starter we tried out the Portugese skewers which were juicy and delicious. I was so impressed they got so much flavour into such a simple dish. For mains we had the seitan 'bitoque' which came with a vegan fried egg and everything. The seitan itself was realistic with lots of striations and crunchy outer layer. The egg seemed to be recreated with silken tofu with a mustard yoke. It was so surprisingly delicious as I thought it was there simply for its looks. The second dish we tried was the fish and we had it served with chips instead of rice. The fish coating was lovely and the fish inside was a surprisingly authentic texture and taste. It turns out they have recreated this using celery root. For this reason it comes in quite a large portion and could shared between two easily. The chips were also noteworthy and really nice. For dessert we tried the snickers tart which was delicious. Extremely rich but very decadent, definitely would like to have tried some of the others on the menu! This resturant is just brilliant, the standard across the board was top notch and would love to come back to try...
Read moreLoved it ! So far one of the few places that made me feel like I was in a real restaurant ! Meaning that the variety of vegan options from starters to desserts was excellent.
Copying traditional dishes, giving you the option of chosing either greasy or something lighter I loved it !
The steak with the egg played a trick on my mind at first I must confess which for me was a very pleasant surprise !
The crockets were delicious !
The desert was good but by then I was already to full and pleased !
Great place to bring both vegans or non vegans they will find a dish for their taste I'm certain.
The only area of improvement, because gladly nothing can be perfect, would be perhaps few variety of options with no carbs, I believe only the Kong Bowl. Also to bad there is no terrace however, that is not the restaurant's fault I guess.
So, overall EXCELLENT and RECOMEND !
Thank You for your work of Excellence KONG !
PS: I normally check also how the industries respond to bad comments and I must say you are great ! Glad to see you still know the rules of this type of customer service industry. People commenting or critisizing aggressively rather than constructively and you respond concernadly rather than defending and talking back. That's great customer service ! So again great proof of...
