I advise against. The atmosphere and food were fine, and the fado was good, some of it was excellent (but the first person I saw frustrated me. She acted like she was super famous, and I found her to be the least talented). The waiters were nice too (unlike some reviews I just read). But I think you will find similar good quality anywhere you go in Lisbon. The problem with this place is it's just way too expensive. I searched the place online just now to make a review and came across the Brazilian version of TripAdvisor, and they're all VERY negative. I wish I had read that before going! Basically, almost anywhere else (and I have gone to other fado places) is going to be cheaper, and with just as good quality. I was also frustrated at how they make you wait a lot. Each set is only about three songs long, and then they have a rest. People are only allowed to come in and out (and this includes waiters!) when there is no music. I think they do that to play up the idea that the fado singers are great artists. Whatever! I don't see why a singer can't keep singing when people are moving about some. So, to sum up, fine, but not worth the extremely high prices: you have to consume 40€, that's their minimum (until 11pm). They charge you 15€ just for sitting there (and I assume that wouldn't count as part of the 40). Plus they put bread and olives and a big bottle of mineral water at your table without asking, and those carry high prices each. It would be pretty much impossible to eat and have a drink and stay at...
Read moreCasa de Linhares offers an unforgettable experience with its blend of ambiance, Michelin worthy cuisine, intimate and inviting atmosphere. Everything was spectacular from start to finish - the food was divine, the service was unmatched, and the fado experience left us with the feeling of longing and nostalgia. Fado, particularly through its haunting melodies and melancholic lyrics, allow listeners to create a sense of connection with the heart and soul of the song without understanding the words. We were quite impressed with the talented fadistas (i.e., fado singers) expressive voices and their ability to covey deep emotions through lyrics, which reverberated throughout the dining hall with its high ceiling, stone archways, and exposed wooden beams. We genuinely appreciated Andre's deep and powerful operatic voice; Vania’s warm and pleasing timbre; the duet between Fabia and Jorge which was quite notable for its elegant and sensual tone; and the silent artist in the background who brings it all together with the Portuguese guitar. At the end, the whole ensemble came together for one last number which completely blew us away - it was so authentic, powerful, and mesmerizing. A special shout out to the staff for an impeccable customer service, and for giving us an unforgettable evening and experience. We highly recommend Casa de Linhares for its delicious and creative dishes, intimate fado experience, great atmosphere and excellent service. We can't wait to...

Fado, exceptional! The music was incredible all the performers were incredibly talented.
Food, not great. For boasting Michelin star status the food really missed the mark. The couvert (bread, butter, olives) was one of the worsts during our entire trip (this is a common course during a Portugal meal). Our seafood rice smelled way too fishy, to the point where I really didn’t enjoy it or really could eat it. All this was super overpriced.
We ordered a bottle of wine (which we love to do when celebrating) but the sommelier was pretty cold during interactions and really didn’t share any expertise “the why” on the wine he suggested for us to pair with our overpriced and fishy meal.
Service, what service? The staff was all smiles but the service did not feel warm and welcoming. I understand that dining is Portugal is elongated but between courses and to get our check took forever. For example, we were one of the first parties (2 people) to enter at and the last to leave after asked for our bill multiple times. Why? They had one POS at the front for checkout?!
TLDR: Save your money and go to another fado restaurant in Alfama. Food and...
