Read moreOnly bad meal we had in Lisbon. Mussels and prawns were overcooked and didn't smell or taste fresh. There was broken mussel shells in the sauce and a fingernail, to which I was told by the owner/manager that it was a garlic shell... I'm a chef of 11 years, having trained in some of the best restaurants in London, so i know that it wasn't that and we all know what a fingernail shape, size and structure feels like. Read moreWe were recommended to come here by a 5 star rated “Taste of Lisbon” tour guide for the “Bacalhau a bras.” Which is flaked cod fish cooked in stringed potatoes with egg and black olives. Sounds strange to an American. Well, it blew me away - absolutely outstanding. Like nothing I have ever had before in the best possible way. Hubby had veal scaloppini in a cream (cream fraise) sauce. We both could have taken a bath in it. Also just outstanding. Roasted veggies, delicious and well seasoned. Bottle of Portuguese green wine, great. Great small place to sit outside or eat in, personable owner Jose, lovely ladies cooking in the kitchen. Don’t hesitate, and if you didn’t read it before, CASH only. Take the other less than 5 star ratings for what their worth…. ...
