The menu is a thoughtful collection of dishes that are both comforting and creative. Each plate that arrives at the table is a testament to the passion and care that goes into its creation. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are vibrant and well-balanced, and every bite feels like a celebration of good food. It’s clear that this is more than just cooking; it's artistry born from a genuine love for feeding people. What truly elevates the dining experience at The restaurant is the exceptional staff. Attentive, genuine, and incredibly welcoming, the team operates with a seamless harmony that makes you feel like a cherished guest in their home. Their recommendations are insightful, their smiles are constant, and their dedication to ensuring a memorable meal is palpable. In a world of fleeting trends and impersonal service, The restaurant is out as a beacon of heartfelt hospitality and culinary excellence. It’s a place where the food is not just made, but crafted with love, and where the staff doesn't just serve, but truly cares. A visit here is more than just a meal; it’s a restorative experience...

Only bad meal we had in Lisbon. Mussels and prawns were overcooked and didn't smell or taste fresh. There was broken mussel shells in the sauce and a fingernail, to which I was told by the owner/manager that it was a garlic shell... I'm a chef of 11 years, having trained in some of the best restaurants in London, so i know that it wasn't that and we all know what a fingernail shape, size and structure feels like. Pasta was bland and overcooked, tasted like it had been left in cold water after blanching before service and had gone mushy. Pork dish was OK but again overcooked. The ladies in kitchen seemed lovely and devistated by the fingernail. Seemed like Portugese cuisine wasn't what they knew how to do well but clearly could cook, just seemed like it was out of their comfort zone, nor did they seem like trained chefs. Our waiter was a friendly and professional. It was the unapologetic, lying attitude of the owner/manager that really...

We were recommended to come here by a 5 star rated “Taste of Lisbon” tour guide for the “Bacalhau a bras.” Which is flaked cod fish cooked in stringed potatoes with egg and black olives. Sounds strange to an American. Well, it blew me away - absolutely outstanding. Like nothing I have ever had before in the best possible way. Hubby had veal scaloppini in a cream (cream fraise) sauce. We both could have taken a bath in it. Also just outstanding. Roasted veggies, delicious and well seasoned. Bottle of Portuguese green wine, great. Great small place to sit outside or eat in, personable owner Jose, lovely ladies cooking in the kitchen. Don’t hesitate, and if you didn’t read it before, CASH only. Take the other less than 5 star ratings for what their worth…. ...

I've been meaning to write this review for a while, and now feels like the perfect time. My boyfriend and I visited Lisbon in March for my birthday and stumbled upon this gem while out for a walk. We decided to stop in for a quick bite and some wine. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and we ordered the sardines on toast and prawns. Those dishes were among the most delicious we tasted in Lisbon. The owner's hospitality was exceptional, and he introduced us to Green Wine, which was a delightful experience. This restaurant is definitely a 10/10, and I would return in a heartbeat on my next trip to Lisbon.

What an amazing place to have a delicious meal and a glass (or bottle) of green wine. We came here at the recommendation of a local who said their Croquetas de bacalhau are the best he has ever had— and after trying them, I think he is correct. The crispiest and tastiest croquets I have ever had. We also had some delicious sardines on toast with olive tapenade. The owner, José, served us and we were told his wife is the one who makes the delicious food. If you are in Lisbon, please come to this restaurant and support some incredible locals :)
