Restaurant Review: Breakfast Lovers
If you’re on the hunt for a cozy spot to indulge in the perfect brunch, Breakfast Lovers is the place to be. We visited on a late Sunday morning, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. Here’s a breakdown of what we ordered and our thoughts:
Drinks: Salted Caramel Latte: A decadent treat! The balance of sweetness and salt was spot on, and the velvety foam made every sip feel luxurious. Mimosa: A classic done right—light, bubbly, and the perfect citrusy kick to complement the meal.
Food: Burrata: Creamy, fresh, and paired beautifully with ripe tomatoes and crusty bread. It was a light yet flavorful starter that set the tone for the meal. Avocado Toast: A brunch staple elevated to the next level. The bread was perfectly toasted, topped with creamy avocado, and garnished with tomatoes and an egg. Burger Benedict: The highlight of the meal! This inventive twist on eggs Benedict featured a juicy burger patty topped with a poached egg and draped in rich hollandaise sauce. The combination was indulgent, hearty, and absolutely satisfying.
Atmosphere: The ambiance of Breakfast Lovers is warm and inviting, with a modern yet relaxed vibe. Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a solo brunch, it feels like the kind of place where you can linger.
Service: Attentive without being overbearing. The staff was knowledgeable and made great recommendations when we couldn’t decide what to try.
Verdict: Breakfast Lovers knows how to deliver an exceptional brunch experience. With standout dishes and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a spot we’d return to without hesitation. Whether you're there for the coffee, cocktails, or creative takes on classics, there’s something to love for...
Read moreI ordered a pumpkin spice latte along with an Autumn Winter. I smelled the sourdough and croissants before heading into the restaurant, so I decided to try them. The sourdough was toasted nicely and spread with cream cheese—lovely poached egg along with some perfectly roasted vegetables with honey. I asked for the staff's recommendations while making my order. It is no wonder why this was his favourite!
Another highlight was my friend's breakfast, Tentacles with potatoes. The texture of the octopus leans on the crab side. It is unlike what you have tasted elsewhere, and it was one of the best I have ever had. It was soft and flavorful, a delightful surprise.
The croissant is flaky and pleasingly baked. But I would vote for the sourdough, as the portion is significant, and the toppings are already amazing. The light sourdough could highlight more of the taste.
The only downside is some seats can’t reach the internet, but it’s okay. Just put down your phone and enjoy the food, haha. The pancake was average, so focus on their strengths. You will not want to miss out. My friend loved their dirty chai and those carefully paired sauces.
It was the first meal we had after arriving in Lisboa, which definitely made us like...
Read moreWe had breakfast at Breakfast Lovers in Alfama and really enjoyed it. It’s tucked away in a quiet little alley, which made it feel like a peaceful escape from the busy streets. We found it easily thanks to TikTok, but it didn’t feel touristy or overhyped at all. We had the bacon Benedict and two iced lattes. The food was delicious and well put together, and the coffee was exactly what we needed on a warm Lisbon morning. The service was quick and the staff were friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was really chilled. There was no music, just the quiet hum of conversation, and the space had a lovely old European feel with lots of wood, red stone, and decorative plates on the walls. It was also cool and shaded, which was a nice break from the heat. It felt like good value for money and we’d definitely go back to try more from the menu. A great little spot for a calm and tasty...
