i’ve lost count of how many times i’ve been to cascavel. it’s one of those places i always come back to and recommend to every friend living in lisbon or just passing through. it’s simply unmissable.
the vibe is sexy and casual, effortlessly perfect for so many different occasions l from a first date to celebrating special moments without all the pressure.
the cocktail menu? absolutely phenomenal. there’s not a single bad drink here. every cocktail comes with an unexpected twist, like coriander or açaí and it somehow always works. the presentation is stunning, too. people often think of it as just a bar stop, but cascavel is also a proper food spot. the food is delicious, casual, and perfect for sharing. you don’t need to go to a formal restaurant, you can eat really well here, while enjoying the full experience.
the soundtrack? always on point. the staff? just as great as the rest. honestly, if i had just one day in lisbon, this would be right at the...
Read moreI was invited to a B-Day party there. The bar itself (interior) is nothing special, rather boring grey tones dominating the whole shebang. But what was worse are a) the prices, for instance 8.50 EUR for a glass of wine and b) the quality of the food. I had a Beef Tartare and it was the grossest one I've ever had with an unbalanced sour note. The quality of the meat was so bad I wasn't sure I would be able to finish the meal, but I had to, coz I was hungry, their other food choices are poor and it was already a relatively expensive dish at 15 EUR given its size. So I had to force it into my belly :-) Maybe it would be smarter to take it off their menu and replace it with something simple that you really can't mess up.
Big plus points though: we've had a very lovely and entertaining lady serving us on her first day, as she said. That was the highlight. Once she gone, the bar ain't...

The cocktails were among the best in my life and I consider myself to be a bit of an aficionado. I had the Isla which was a delight at each sip. My friend received a custom, off the menu cocktail according to her tastes and was equally satisfied. We had some unusual and delicious crispy cups with a sort of chopped Indian filling with was a pleasant surprise. Again, service was top tier. Regretfully the kitchen closed early - we send our dearest regards to the chef, hoping all is well. Looking forward to our next visit. A...
