Insaciável — Restaurant in Lisbon

Walking past the restaurant the night before, everyone sat outside mid October, eating and drinking and having fun...so we headed back the next evening. Outside tables were full and the guest waiting list was scribbled on the doors glass. So we started off inside and as promised, we're moved outside after about 20 mins. We hadn't looked up the place so had no idea what food/wine or price to expect but were drawn in by the atmosphere. Three wines were offered to taste, we sampled all three and chose one...still no idea of the price (we could have asked!) Menu arrived, it all looked delicious. And was. We ordered two plates and probably should have asked for three, maybe four, they were that wonderful. Such a lovely, easy going place, great food done well and very reasonable wine, sat outside, and met a lovely Dutch lady sat next to us who we had a laugh with. (All the best for your wedding if you see this!) Can't wait to go back. Oh and when the bill arrived, it was very reasonable and I'd expected to pay more. (We left our teenage kids at the hotel as not sure they'd have enjoyed it, more of a place for couples) Lisbon was...

Superb wine bar. We were staying locally and noticed how busy it was, with a mixture of locals and tourists, so decided one night if there was space outside we’d try it out. We were so glad there was one spare table. Our sommelier brought out a few wines in our range of preference to try before we committed, which demonstrated they cared about our enjoyment of the experience rather than just selling us any old bottle. The Vinho verde we decided on was delicious, so we also got some food to accompany it. This was also fantastic quality, and perfect for a light dinner on a balmy evening. Prices were reasonable and the service was top notch - they can all describe wine better in English than I can as a native speaker. Will be coming back on...

This lovely wine bar turned out to be around the corner from us and it was the highlight of the trip for me. I really enjoyed being presented with a couple of options for each glass. The servers were fantastic and incredibly helpful hitting what we were looking for. Make sure you try the food as well, it was fantastic. For me the oysters and razor clams were the highlights.

The ambiance of the outdoor seating area at Insaciavel deserves a special mention. There is hardly anything more delightful than indulging in the convivial atmosphere and people-watching as the world goes by.
