The following happened:
On Monday, June 30th, I visited the café, had a meal with my good friend, and really enjoyed my time there. However, when I paid the bill of 37.40€, it appears I was mistakenly charged 77.40€ instead. I only became aware of this on July 1st when I received a notification from my banking app and had already left Lisbon. (I am a tourist, my friend is a local)
I reached out to Dear Breakfast through multiple channels: E-Mail, Social Media (IG) and also sent my friend there in person. He got the overcharge confirmed by the staff and was assured that someone would reach out to me/answer me and transfer me back the money.
Three weeks went by with no answer. Only when I threatened to take legal action, I finally received an answer via IG. The person in contact with me was really nice and assured me they would return the money.
Now today I finally received back 30€. 10€ less then what I should have received.
At this point I am exhausted and dissappointed. They had screenhots, the original bill, all info needed....and still did not manage to do the right thing.
Although I enjoyed the place, I wont come back here again.
I suggest that when you go, you check your account immediately and do not go the last day you are in the city, if you do not want to run into the same problem. Or pay with cash in the...
Read moreReview in English (for the nationals and internationals). The drink prices are a bit overrated, the glass is small for what they are listed for. Also, 12€ pistáchio pancakes, it's a bit too much. Overall the prices are too high, not suitable for the average portuguese.
Food is good, but that's it.The place is nicely decorated and very cozy, unfortunately has become another tourist trap spot, super noisey (a mix of americans, french, etc) which turned the lunch quite sour, since I couldn't talk or hear anything...and quite funny probably being the only portuguese person there. The staff is very nice, although was greated in English when I entered and they couldn't speak Portuguese, threw me a bad vibe. The only portuguese speaker is the nice...
Read moreWe discovered this gem just a short walk from our apartment, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with morning sunshine streaming in and creating a cozy ambiance. The food was delicious, with generous portions and plenty of options to choose from. We particularly enjoyed the fluffy pancakes, fresh avocado toast, and nutritious acai bowl. The coffee was also excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making our breakfast experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a tasty and affordable...
