Having spent a week in Lisbon being constantly disappointed with the tourist-trap restaurants, we found ourselves trying the Coutada more by accident (or, rather, geography - being close to our apartment) than by anything else. My wife, a keen pescatarian was looking for good seafood, I'd pretty much given up with earlier experiences elsewhere with poor food in Lisbon. WOW!, what a surprise, a lovely small restaurant with an enthusiastic owner and a talented cook that will sell you the story of Portuguese food whilst delivering food that wasn't just better that anything else we'd tried locally, but could hold it's head against any restaurant we've visited anywhere. Opens for lunch at 12:30 and then closed in mid afternoon before opening at 7pm for dinner (I think). Closed Sunday & Monday. Google hours need...

We never had the feeling that we were just welcome for our money. Our warmest recommendation- if we should ever come back to Lisbon we will...
