Review of LA Villa Italian restaurant Risorante & Pizzeria @ Campo Martires da Patria N o 40 41 Lisbon Portugal .
Dining out tonite with family @ La villa has been a very pleasant experience .
Trust me it's not about just the quality of authentic italian food that was served But the courtesy and hospitality with which they receive their guests is superb!
Mr Sameer Res Manager is Fully hands on as he goes about meeting and exchanging pleasantries with guests but of course in Portugese but his team under Alex Albuquerque , Maître d'hôtel speaks well in English to serve their customers to utmost satisfaction .
But what makes this restaurant good and well accepted is great italian food being served by Sr Chef Tom ,along with his team of sous chefs, in his modern kitchen that boasts of a wood fired oven for making Pizzas .
This restaurant being located in the nature park Campo Martires da Patria with ducks , Roosters and hens makes the ambience around that much more natural with abundant green trees. The restaurant also holds a good stock of wine and other varieties of alcohol in addition to draft beer .
We were treated ourselves to imperial draft beer , and mix fruit coctail followed by starters of Burrata & Bruchetta ,Forma cheese pasta ,Gamberi & Pizza Rose . Dessert was cheese cake and semifreddo.
We were set back for 4 adults and a Child by just 89 Euros for the wonderful authentic italian food served .
I recommend this restaurant to all my followers planning to...
Read moreI would like to state clearly that the following review is not a reflection of the food itself or the pricing, but the harassment I endured from one of the restaurants waitstaff, Vikram.
I went alone to La Villa last night, and my first impressions of the restaurant were very positive. The service I initially received was second to none. However, it soon become highly inappropriate, as Vikram stood over me, watching me eat the whole time, kept trying to initiate conversation even though I just wanted to be left alone.
I tried to be polite and say this but he kept himself stationed right by my table looking down at me and making me feel very uncomfortable. He then said I looked like I needed a massage and that he could do it for me. This in itself was awful and had ruined the first positive impressions I had of the place.
I am a young women travelling alone who only wanted a meal and to be left in peace, but Vikram loitered around me the whole evening, no sense of professionalism or personal space.
He was also hounding me to go on a date with him, trying to also know where I stayed. I was disgusted and terrified. Even when he briefly left my table, he stood outside watching me. He never took his eyes off me.
Very awful experience. And if Vikram knew how to conduct himself correctly, it would have been so much different. I hope the restaurant addresses this as it’s not what I or anyone else come to restaurants for...
Read moreThe best part about this restaurant is the location. After having lived in Italy for 2 years, I wanted to give this restaurant a try. As a chef, my signature dish is Amatriciana, so I ordered this to test. Unfortunately, there was barely any pancetta in it (also, traditionally you use guanciale) and there was not enough Pecorino used to generate the signature taste of Amatriciana. It was not bad, but certainly not the quality I wanted. Then I ordered the Floresta, which unfortunately looked more a misguided carbonara followed a wrong recipe rather than what I expected. It was supposed to be truffles and bolettus edilus (porcini) mushrooms. Not sure if they think I cannot tell, or they forgot, but no truffles were used in this dish, and the mushrooms used did also not have the delicate and distinct taste of porcini mushrooms. On another note, the linguini were overcooked.
I'd say there are many many better options in Lisbon with more...
