Had an overnight in Lisbon on a recent cruise and planned to return to a restaurant we had visited on a previous Lisbon break. We arrived at 7pm as the restaurant opened which was a wise move as it soon filled up. Joao looked after us going through the portuguese menu with us to help us decide. We had a mixed platter of delicious meats and cheeses with a lovely pear chutney and lots of varieties of bread with beers to accompany it. We all had steaks, each with a different sauce, accompanied by lovely fresh fries and washed down with a litre of house red. More wine and fries were offered. Lime cheesecakes and flan to finish along with lovely coffee and a complimentary glass of ginginha each. The hospitality was outstanding. We will be back on our next visit to Lisbon. Watch out if you try any of the very hot piri-piri sauces offered! Unbelievable value as the bill was just over 80 euros for...

We stumbled across this oasis last night which was close to our hotel. When we asked for a table the hostess advised they were booked inside but offered us the last table for two on the patio. We thought it must be good if there booked. OMG. It was better than good. We had no idea what to have. The hostess recommended lamb for my wife and I asked for fish. We were blown away with our meal. The portions were exceptional and the food was Amazing. I was served the Tuna lightly grilled on a skewer and my wife’s lamb chops were exquisite. Wine served in a juice jar, bread warmed came in a quilted bag. We fell in love with our hostess and can’t wait to come back one day. This was definitely a highlight of our dining...

It's the kind of place where you come for a simple, comforting and filling meal. The portions of some dishes are big and of the others very big. Prices are low, especially if you ask for something out of their daily menu, some of the options cost around 8€ per portion, for example a salmon cost 10€. It may not look like it on the photo, but the piece of salmon they gave me was huge, one of the biggest I've ever gotten. I really enjoyed the service, despite there being only one person serving all of the tables, he was super nice to us and was giving plenty of attention to every customer. Overall, this place combines low priced, big portioned, traditional meals while still being well arranged and...
