How should I start?
Price point aside, this place seriously has some of the best food in Europe, I’m not exaggerating. And I’m not easy to please at all, I have not had a single memorable (taste-wise) meal in Spain for two weeks, and this tops everything I have been having in three weeks in both Spain and Portugal.
First, the croaker with seafood rice was such a treat. Fish was grilled to perfection, with caramelized crisp and extremely tender/juicy flesh—if anything, the fish could be fatter to give more flavour. Little did I know, the rice was packed with a good deal of seafood like razor clams, clams and prawn bits too (and the texture of razor clams were maintained really well: succulent while springy just nice). I read from two reviews saying it’s too salty; not sure if they have improved on it, coz I found it not salty at all (I might even prefer it saltier), but it has enough subtle flavors from various seafood, pepper and other ingredients etc.
The pork cheek, on the other hand, was another stellar dish. The pork part used had just the right amount of fat, stewed to melty level. The sauce has a good complexity too. The mashed potato on the side was French style, which was extremely creamy: not my thing coz I liked a lil bit of potato chunks in my mashed potato, but it showed the attention they took on even mashed potatoes.
As for the dessert, the chocolate moist cake with lemon ice cream has all the delicious elements: moist dense chocolate cake, intense but not too sweet dark chocolate sauce, crispy roasted hazelnut, and refreshing lemon ice cream. The only downside is presentation; but as long as we know to put the elements together, it’s one fine dessert.
Good news is: it has huge discount on the fork at the moment. If you can secure a slot, this place...
Read moreThe restaurant is spacious and waitress speaks good English and is nice. It wasn’t busy, probably no more than half full, but we waited for nearly half an hour for our starter to come. We’ve seen other customers ordering after us have got food before us. Several dishes weren’t available, such lobster seafood rice, razor clams etc. We ordered tiger prawns seafood rice which wasn’t on the menu to replace lobster rice. Also ordered prawns as starters, fish seafood rice and grilled chicken. Both prawns for starter and mains weren’t fresh. We can tell from the texture that the prawns are mushy and weren’t fresh. The flavour was good though very salty. Because it has a lot of rice., we didn’t finish both rice dishes. Grills chicken tastes goods, the chicken is from boneless chicken thigh and tastes very tender. When I got the bill, I was surprised I was charged hot water as I thought hot water is free and only need to pay bottle water or tap water. I booked via a different website and had 50% discount so it works out good value. Otherwise I’d say it’s quite pricy. Given the location, it’s not somewhere you would pass by unless you know...
Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Enora. I started with the sheep cheese from Azeitão, which was perfectly creamy and full of flavor and it’s great they put good amount of salat to prepare stomach :) — such a great way to begin the meal. For my main course, I had the veal cheek confit with truffle mashed potatoes, and it was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the truffle mash was silky and decadent. For dessert, I went with the chocolate mousse topped with Portuguese olive oil and salt flakes, which turned out to be one of the best desserts I’ve ever had( after homemade Italian tiramisu)🫣) — simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious. Great red wine was fantastic and paired beautifully with the food. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the service was exceptional. waitress, who had light hair, was so attentive, kind, and professional as also rest of the stuff did they best. I was lucky to get a window table, which made the experience even more memorable. Enora serves real Portuguese food with a modern twist, and everything was executed beautifully. I can’t recommend it...
