We had dinner there yesterday and didn’t get fond of it. Had a stomach ache after. Ordered lamb korma and didn’t taste like it neither looked like it, the waiter wasn’t even sure he was serving me lamb or chicken and had to ask me to check. My sauce looked exactly like my girlfriend’s chicken mango sauce, the only difference was it was sprinkled with coco. The naans were nothing special, dry and tasteless, I honestly don’t get it why this restaurant has so many good reviews, I’ve been to other Nepalese restaurants in Lisbon much better. Better food and better surroundings. Mount Everest is one of such. No safe space to park, even a motorcycle. Had to bother the whole meal to go outside and be on lookout for my motorcycle as there where people smoking on top of it and neighbours from another store manoeuvring a big truck that had to park on top of it with no need for it.The owner felt the need to record a video of us for his Restaurant TikTok when it was supposed to be a photo. Yes they were nice and there was plenty of rice but honestly not worthy of many stars. When you’ve already paid and are almost leaving they stop you and give you a 10% discount card for next time as if it’s a...
Read moreExcellent food, kindest waiters!! I've only been in Lisboa for a week in July, but still decided to eat in this restaurant twice. The food was DELICIOUS. The waiters have been extremely kind - one helped us choose the right dishes, based on our tolerance of spiciness, our curiosity, etc. It was worth every cent and wasn't even expensive! I definitely suggest the Chicken Everest (stewed chicken in cashew sauce and milk cream with fresh cheese, dry fruits and veggies). Many of the stewed dishes come in lovely mini-pots which are kept warm by a small fire underneath.
It saddened me to notice that both times the place was almost empty - not because of the quality (everyone gives excellent reviews), I think they've just been hit hard by the lockdowns. Also, I happened to find out they were open even when Google said otherwise, and this might be another factor (I suggest making a phone call if you wanna make sure - anyway, the opening hours online seems to have been fixed).
I can't stress enough how much I'd like everyone to take this place in consideration - it's so good and it deserves many more customers!! If I visit Lisboa again, I'm...
Read moreDuring our recent visit to the New Himalaia, we were delighted by the warm and attentive service. Our host ensured a pleasant dining experience, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
The dishes were freshly prepared and full of authentic flavors. The Chicken Korma was rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice, while the Chicken Tikka Masala delivered a satisfying depth of flavor and tender chicken pieces. Both curries paired wonderfully with the fragrant rice and soft naan bread.
For starters, the Onion Bhajis were crispy and well-seasoned, and the Chicken Pakora had a delightful crunch with a flavorful marinade. However, the poppadoms were a bit disappointing, lacking the crisp quality we are accustomed to in the UK.
Considering the price of €30 for two starters, two curries, two rice portions, one naan, and two beers, the meal was excellent value for money. The portion sizes were ample, and the quality of food made it well worth the visit.
Overall, aside from the poppadoms, the experience was fantastic—great service, delicious food, and superb value. We would happily return for...
