Ice Gourmet — Restaurant in Lisbon

The Portuguese way of thinking:

"All the tables are taken. Is that possible to bring in some of those outside, that are in the rain?"

"No... It's not possible."

"Why not? And so what you suggest we do?"

"There's nothing to. If we put those tables in here it will be difficult for us to move about."

"So you suggest we eat... How? Standing up, so it's not difficult for you to move when eventually someone comes here, because I don't see anyone serving the tables."

"Sir, it's not our fault it's raining".

Changing subject to the food: the so called pancakes — don't. They're not. And the waffles are way too much "vanilla" flavoured.

The view and surroundings, within Gulbenkian gardens, though, are wonderful. Just be prepared for the standard Portuguese...

Terrible service, coffee machine was under maintenance and after 20 minutes of waiting sitting at a table a waiter came to check our certificates and then let us know certificates issued by the United States were not accepted (first time this happened in Portugal, we have EU certificates and were guiding for a couple that was visiting and we’ve been to many places before, this was never an issue) we left and the waiter didn’t even apologize for the situation and just reinforced they only accepted EU...

Um lugar muito barulhento no seu interior, quase nada para comer, para além do gelados e café ou chá, no inverno gelados não será a melhor opção! Foram feitas várias queixas aos staff no sentido de transmitir aos seus superiores hierárquicos que é impossível estar mais de 15 minutos neste espaço devido ao constante bater do suporte de tirar cafés de forma a sacudir as café utilizado . Qualquer pessoa sem grande grau de escolaridade percebe que aquele barulho constante incomoda e afasta qualquer um . Também qualquer pessoa na mesma condição já teria envolvimento o suporte com algum material á base de borracha para reduzir drasticamente aquele barulho insuportável. Outra grande lacuna, em plena primavera ou Verão o encerramento do Ice Gourmet as 19h horas no interior de um jardim não se compreende. O que também não se compreende é a rotatividade do staff, será que todos os que por lá tem passado são todos incompetentes? não me parece que seja essa a razão.... Decididamente...
