AUTHENTIC AF TACOS! You won’t be disappointed. After half a day spent at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, we were ready to enjoy a quality meal and this place delivered in a big way. We felt as though we had been transported back to Mexico. You can tell they know their stuff. The flavours were incredible and each ingredient complemented the dish like a bachata dance. 😜 To top it all off, we shared the recommendation of the chocolate and tequila mousse and it was the perfect ending to our meal.

The staff here are fantastic and take great care of you. The vibe is chill and very welcoming. In the end, the El Patrón tacos were our favourite but you truly can’t go wrong with any of them! We’re already craving to go back and we were there mere hours ago haha.

Based on how affordable everything is, we weren’t expecting to love this food as much as we did but now we’re hooked. We will be back...

When we walked in, we were greeted by Waitress A, who barely acknowledged us. I had to flag her down to get her attention before she seated us, handed over the menus, and left without another word. A different waitress, Waitress B, came to take our order and was the complete opposite, she was friendly, bubbly, and even made a few jokes. We ordered two cocktails, two different tacos, and some nachos to start. There were only two waitresses working the front so service was a little slow. Our drinks were even taken to another table until I pointed out they were probably ours; Waitress A reluctantly gave them to us. When it came time to pay, we split the bill in half. Taqueria das Avenidas is a fantastic spot that brings a touch of authentic Mexican charm right into the heart of the city. The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant, making it the perfect place to enjoy a fun and flavorful meal.

The Mexican tapas are outstanding, full of bold flavors and beautifully prepared. The cocktails we tried were exceptional, crafted with creativity and balance. And the highlight? The Tres Leches dessert—the best I’ve ever had, rich, moist, and absolutely delicious.

The staff is wonderful—warm, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
