The one star purely reflects the service. My husband and I decided to go to Mano a Mano this evening after deciding we wanted Italian. Reviews looked great so we were pretty excited to try this whilst on Honeymoon in Lisbon. We only ordered mains, no starters and started to realise that all tables around us were getting their food before us, even though we had arrived first. After waiting for around 45 mins I decided to ask our waiter how much longer they think our food might be. He didn’t come back to let me know nor did he make eye contact with me again. Around 10 minutes later I asked another waiter and the same thing happened. About 5 mins later a woman, who I assumed was the manager told us our food was next and then it finally arrived 10 mins later. No apology and no one could let us know why it had taken so long. If there was a problem and we were told, we would have been understanding having worked in hospitality ourselves, but there was no apology or acknowledgement that we had waited over an hour for our food. When the bill arrived I asked the waiter if he could speak to his manager to take something off our bill to compensate for the hours wait. When it came back, 4 euros had been deducted. (10% of the bill.) It was very disappointing and think we were just unlucky with the wait as sometimes these things happen, but to not be told or receive any form of apology or a decent amount of money taken off is really quite unacceptable. We did very much enjoy our food though, once it...
Read moreI do not recommend this place for somebody who is gluten-free and who is by themselves. I ordered a gluten-free pizza which came out cold. To me that means it was a frozen premade pizza crust. I told the waiter after a long time of him walking by me and not paying attention and he took it back and heated it up for about 30 seconds and brought it back. He didn’t ask me anything. He didn’t come by and check on me. He left me there with this cold disgusting pizza for the next 40 minutes until I finally saw him look at me and told him I wanted to pay my bill. He didn’t ask me if the pizza was any better. I obviously only ate some of it because I was hungry and it was the only meal I had all day. I ate at a gluten-free pizza place the day before that was amazing and this place is honestly one of the worst that I’ve had. I don’t know how anybody is saying that this has good gluten-free pizza because it is not fresh and the service is horrible. I know I was there by myself, but there was literally four tables at that place and that guy who was the waiter ignored me the whole time. I don’t recommend this place for anybody who enjoys a good atmosphere with good service. Very disappointing for the amount of...
Read moreDuring our trip to Lisbon, around 10 PM one night, we suddenly had a craving for pizza. We checked out top50pizza and saw that Mano a Mano was on the list and luckily close to our hotel. It turned out to be one of the best pizza experiences we’ve ever had. We ordered the Bruschetta and Margherita pizza. The tomato sauce on the Margherita was incredible and the tomatoes seemed picked right at that moment. The freshness. The cherry on top was the spicy olive oil served on the side. You have to taste it. When we were paying the bill, we asked if we could buy a bottle of the spicy olive oil. Our waiter, Gonçalo, said it was sadly not on sale but that they would give us some to take back home. Right after that, the chef, Coimbra Diogo came over to our table and started chatting with us. Such a warm, friendly guy, the conversation was just as memorable as the food. If you’re a pizza lover, Mano a Mano is an absolute must in Lisbon. Pro tip: If you ask nicely, they might gift you the spicy olive oil too! Diogo, if you read this don't forget; in little...
