I wish I had looked at the reviews first. I wish I had trusted my instinct by the look of the place. This is why they say to not go grocery shopping hungry..... You make bad choices. Second if not third rate Italian at best. I also came here when the nice spot up the street could not accommodate me for 2 hours as one person. The old waiter with the glasses was bestowed upon me from the annals of where bad service goes to die. I wish he was one of those old men with an amazing service history , it was not the case. I waited 10 minutes off for him to give me a menu, had to beg the wine list off him.
Ordering wine, I drink red and dry and when I asked him of several wines, he said they were.... Medium. I got frustrated and told him to tell me what was dry.. In his selection took the wine bill down by half.... Also it was not good. I resigned myself at this point. This was one you won't win. Minestrone seemed to be the bottom of the barrel. Broken noodles, bland taste and tepid at best. I considered asking them to serve it appropriately hot, but just knew it'd be popped in the microwave. So I dumped a bunch of table parmesan , he told me it was fresh.... And tried to finish it. Tagliatella Bolognese arrived in an old bowl of white noodles and a ladel of bright red and very even texture meat in the sauce. I looked at it and just sighed. I couldn't finish it.... The allegedly fresh noodles had this weird taste that coated the tongue and you could barely taste the incredibly bland and thoughtless sauce. It was like eating deeper into depression!! Worst Italian in recent memory . And all the time that idiot of a waiter wandered around gazing like a deer in the headlights never offered me water, never asked how everything was. A total loss. Don't make the same mistake. Do the restaurant 300 ft from here but make reservations. And 1,40 for one piece of non fresh bread. The hits just...
Read moreUnfortunately my experience at this spot was not friendly nor pleasant. Arrived at the restaurant and no one spoke to us while I had to grab a waiter to be seated. Upon sitting, waiter did not great us nor introduced him self. While I myself spoke the language, the waiter continued to look annoyed and not happy about attending to us. I had some questions about the menu and the waiter rolled his eyes and kept turning his head looking around when I was directly asking him about the menu options. We ordered 2 green pastas. My husband and I noticed that everyone around was receiving the pasta meals straight from the kitchen bowls steaming hot and it was poured onto their plate. Ours came cold in a plate and the waiter himself didn’t even bother checking on us post receiving the meal. When I bit into my food it was cold. I spoke to another waiter asking if I could switch my meal. My initial waiter came to check on us post me complaining about the food stating, “you don’t know what your talking about, your food is not cold, apparently you don’t know what you want to eat”. While I replied politely back to him stating, “I’m the customer, so my option about the food matters and I could tell your not really happy about helping us tonight. From the beginning your attitude was very Poor and not helpful”. We opted to leave and offered to pay for the bread and water we partially consumed but he insisted we didn’t have to pay. I explained to him that I’m not happy with the service or the food. My husband and I got up and left. After we left we found a lovely Italian restaurant around the corner with great services and better quality of food called Italian Garage. I do not recommend...
Read moreI have never felt like this in a restaurant. They have did everything right, but I could hardly wait to finish my very good lasagne and leave and never return, although the food and wine were good. I even haven't left the tip. This restaurant should be called Zero smile. One main man and three waiters for the small restaurant and I haven't received not one smile. My impression is that three guys are so afraid of the main one, as they would be punished if they make any mistake, so they keep mouth shut, look down and just work in a freezing atmosphere. One can feel they are not the team. It is not pleasant to be there. In addition it is like you just got a permission to be there, and not a guest. I didn't feel like a welcomed guest. Maybe they had a bad day, and I had bad luck to go there...
