Our family of 3 had dinner at Al Garage in April2025. My husband and I were both food-poisoned by their seafood dishes while our son ordered a pizza and he was fine. Our flight to Lisbon was delayed that day so we only had breakfast at home and then dinner at Al Garage. Therefore, there was no doubt that it was the seafood rissoto and creamy salmon pasta we had that made us sick at night. I was in so much pain that I had to curl myself up on the floor to try to stop it. The next day we spoke to the manager but he didnt want to know. He even said that of all the customers they had that night, only the two of us told him we were sick and that's not ENOUGH for him to do anything. We were shocked by his response. Some of the staff members who were translating for him came across quite aggressive too. The manager said we didnt go to the hospital to get any tests or evidence so we couldnt prove it was their food. It was our first night in Lisbon and we were very ill but they expected us to go to the hopistal while we couldnt speak Purtugese. He said it was our own fault to travel to a country where we couldnt speak their language. We demanded to write a complaint on their red book but they rejected and said they'd only do that if the police showed up on their doorstep. It was our right to write on the red book and they couldnt refuse but they did because they thought they could have bullied us away. We spent the second evening in Lisbon calling the police, looking for a police station and the police came just before mid-night. The manager was a different person in front of the police and we eventually filed our compliant on the red book. AVOID the restuarant at all costs! Our worst ever experience with a...

First the good, my son had a pizza and it was amazing. Ok, not onto the bones.... My wife and I both had seafood dishes and both had bad bellies. My stomach hurt until the following evening, my wife felt worse and didn't feel great for 2-3 days. We were staying at the hotel next door so we decided to go and talk to the staff. Talk of "I believe you" was soon replaced with showing us receipts for the take the night before, citing "no one else complained" once we asked for a refund of our dishes. Not enough people complained was the manager's argument. The attitude was the issue, they didn't go back to check the kitchen or even pretend to, so it's obvious to the customer that they don't really care. It's in a quite touristy area so how many people are actually going to go back and complain whilst on holiday? Manager also refused to let us write a complaint in the red book which is illegal and we had to actually call the police to come down before they would relent. Stupid smug grins watching us talk to the police because they thought they'd got away with it but then realised the police would do an investigation so let us write in their red book. Just crappy attitudes, at least listen to your customers, we'd just got off a flight and hadn't eaten all day, it was definitely your food! If you go, just have a pizza, it's good This happened in the spring of 2025. 4 stars is for the pizza, minus 1 star for food poisoning, pretty generous I'd say. Stay away from the seafood...

First of all this is a concept Italian restaurant. Everything is thought of into every detail. Menus have pictures and therefore seldom change is my guess. If you are looking for genuine Italian with menus on a board and tables and chairs may not be the same this is not the place for you. Here it is fast pace and quick and alert waiters. Fast in and fast out. The food is ok and there is nothing to complain about but not something to say WOW about either. There are a few dishes all Italian restaurants have and I went for the pasta Vongole. This is pasta with clams that is made with the pasta removed from boiling water before done to cook in the pan with the clams last minutes. Here you need a bit thicker pasta to get it al dente. The restaurant uses thin spaghetti so the pasta was over cooked. The taste was ok but I think it lacked a bit of the heat it should have. The tiramisu for desert was too much Mascarpone cream making it a bit too sweet. Again it was ok and overall this was a ok meal. So will we come back? You never know but I think if I want Italian I would go for the less conceptional setup. I agree with many others that the service and...

Ambiance is nice but I must say their service is really third class, expect for one guy from bangladesh, none of other staff was friendly and professional. Nobody was there to greet us and show us a table, later we were sitting for quite a while but nobody came to took our order, rather I had to call a guy myself to give the order. Its not that the staff was busy rather they were just hanging here and there!I could sense that as I myself own a restaurant in Switzerland and have worked in service too. Then I requested my food to be little bit spicy, but forget about spicy, rather it was so bland that I had to add so much of salt and pepper to have some flavours atleast. At the time of food clearance, none of the staff asked if we were satisfied or the food was good or not whatever, instead they were having nice gala time and chit chatting among themselves cracking jokes! Overall the restaurant location and set up has been well maintained, menu has variety of nice dishes but its my suggestion for the owner to please get his/her staff in line and look after more customer satisfaction and seriousness among employees.

You have many choices for Italian restaurants in Lisbon and this was recommended. The vibe is lively and colourful: you could imagine yourself in Italy though the street and part of town is quiet, so one feels launched in to a new world! There is parking at a multi-story just a few steps down the street. We chose a white sangria to share made with Prosecco so you will pay a little more for this ( €27) and it’s well appointed with fruits. The main dishes vary in price and if you want one of their specialties it’s the pasta with Parmesan cheese. It’s rich to be sure: add some black truffle and it’s even richer (extra supplement €3: total €19.50). One guest had prawn risotto. Another a lasagna. They were all tasty and well prepared. We sat in a booth that was comfortable. We then ‘went to town’ with the desserts as sampler of 4: a little pricey (21.50) and too sweet so do not recommend the desserts. We paid 104 for 4 so not inexpensive (deduct the sangria and desserts and you’re at around 15 each that is reasonable in my mind. Thanks :)
