Machimbombo — Restaurant in Lisbon

The stars I give are only for the food which was great and Iara the female waitress, those were the only highlights (a little boring/annoying that everything comes with pickled stuff so i ordered without it but still everything tasty and the evidently homemade bread was great). First of all they tortured us all night, at the level of giving us a migraine before even taking our orders, the speakers sounded like they were broken, music so loud that when the speaker failed, gave high pitched static noises at full volume to absolute silence, back to breaking our ears at full volume and they didn't even played a full song without technical issues. We asked if they could at least turn down the volume, but nothing changed. The music selection made no sense at all, giving a really uncomfortable ambiance. It was more than an hour, with a headache, to which we add the really bad and aggressive attitude from the tall guy that didn't seem to be a waiter but was the one who brought us the food. As you can see in the picture no one else was there, because they all runned from the annoying noise that was supposed to be music. Whether it's a restaurant or a dancing place, please decide one or the other and fix those freaking speakers please! The only two reasons to try it again are the food and the girl that attend...

I had a very disappointing experience at this establishment. When I entered the ladies’ restroom, I encountered a man inside who was taking drugs with his friends. I knocked on the door because to tell them to hurry because it was an emergency for me. When exiting the toilet, he insulted me. When I asked for some respect and an apology for his behavior, I was instead insulted. To make matters worse, when I brought this up, the staff dismissed my concerns and accused me of being homophobic, which was completely unjustified. They we actually not respecting woman since insulting neither there privacy with the toilets. They were also racists and critiqued all French people.

The overall atmosphere felt unprofessional, and the staff did not seem to care about customer respect or safety. This is not the kind of environment that makes customers feel welcome, especially women. I hope the management takes steps to improve the behavior and professionalism of their team, and I hope they will welcome better fréquentations.

I also truly appreciated the help in choosing the wine, which made my experience even more special. On my next trip to Lisbon, I will definitely come back, and I can warmly recommend this place to others as well.
