Pastelaria Astro — Restaurant in Lisbon

Kinda cool classic atmosphere, such a pity the owner and waiter had such a bad vibe.. You could tell they were disappointed when we ordered just two coffees (worst ever had, burnt and acidic, I got stomach ache right after.. probably they never cleaned their machine) for a quick break and they thought very well of overcharging us for those. The cafe has beautiful aesthetics and a large selection of pastries but the vibe from the man at the counter and the waiter was unpleasant. We only had coffee (pingado and decaf pingado) which was probably the worst we both have experienced in Lisbon plus they overcharged me (for what reason, one can only presume and wonder) nevertheless we will be taking our money elsewhere. So treat the locals and foreigners...

In all fairness, it has a great selection of pastries and offers a pretty expansive menu.

However, the service I experienced was quite simply bizarre. I ordered a sandwich which took over 25 mins to arrive, and when I wished to pay for just my coffee and cake as I assumed they had forgotten, I was told to wait as my sandwich was on its way - I was being held hostage to service.

I don't think I'll be returning...
