Look, it's Chinese. If you want atmosphere, you are in the wrong restaurant. The place is small and cramped, all right, space-efficient, you will sit with elbows touching the neighboring tables. If you can look past that, this is a great Chinese restaurant.
The food is definitely Chinese cuisine, with authentic ingredients and cooking techniques, though there is quite a degree of fusing various region dishes. The selection is mostly Dongbei and Sichuan. The price-to-portion ratio is astronomical. A family of 4 went home stuffed having drunk a bottle of wine for 52 Euro. That's crazy value for real honest to goodness Chinese food. I should know, I am 100% Taiwanese, despite my name.
The restaurant is small, so call ahead so that you are not turned away. Though the staff will try their best to fit you in. She certainly did for my visit. Highly...
Read moreWe know that China is a very big country, and this restaurant serves very authentic, traditional northern Chinese food. The food has not been modified in any way and is exactly the same as what I ate in China. I am willing to give it five stars in the evaluation because it is very cheap, almost the cheapest Chinese food in Lisbon, but the food is great! Very fresh! And the decoration style is very traditional, the dishes and prices are written on the blackboard, very much like the restaurants in China before 2010. I am willing to take the subway to eat during my lunch break, which is...
Read moreI stopped by Sabor Oriental in Lisbon for dinner a while ago. In terms of food, I’d give them 8.3/10 from trying the following: Beef Spicy Soup: 8/10: Decently made, although less numbing and less meat than expected Northeast Malatang: 8.5/10: A Szechuan dish but they did their own twist on it where it was less spicy and more hearty. Worth trying on a cold evening Caramelized Yam: 8.5/10: Great dessert item authentically made (thin layer of crispy caramel). The biggest downside is that they used a different type of yam/sweet potato where it felt a bit...
