Sheriff Steakhouse — Restaurant in Lisbon

We came here for a visit on a Friday while staying in Lisbon, and I have to say it is utterly embarrassing for them to call themselves a steakhouse.

First, I entered with my fiancé and immediately noticed that it was quite busy. I caught the attention of a server, who told us to wait two minutes to be seated. Ten minutes later, no one had seated us, so I took matters into my own hands and found a table for us.

When a server finally came to our table, we ordered the biggest steak on the menu, the Tomahawk, cooked medium.

When the steak eventually arrived, I pulled out my phone to record the server cutting it, and what was revealed beneath the surface was a completely raw steak. The server’s immediate excuse was, “We don’t have an oven.” How can a steakhouse not have an oven? He then told us he could cook it further on the grill if we wanted, but I tried to explain that it wouldn’t work, everyone knows that once you cut into a steak, it’s ruined. I couldn’t believe I was explaining this to a supposed steakhouse.

After some back-and-forth, we reluctantly agreed to let them cook it a bit more; otherwise, it would have been inedible. They did, and the result was like eating the cheapest cut of meat cooked by a toddler.

We tried explaining our dissatisfaction to three different servers, but the manager never came over. He was too busy attending to guests who were ordering bottles of wine, since their bill was going to be higher and, apparently, more important than ours.

What really added insult to injury was how eager they were to take our payment. It felt as though they didn’t care about the food or our experience, they just wanted fast money.

This was my first time visiting Sheriff Steakhouse, although I have experience with this type of restaurant. I would highly recommend it because the food is delicious and there is a wide variety of options on the buffet line. On this visit, I had to control my eating, so I didn’t try the à la carte menu, but I will definitely come back to try it next time. There are many high-quality meat options to choose from.
