Simpli Coffee Braamcamp — Restaurant in Lisbon

We went to this place due to the reviews and experiences, but left feeling unwelcome and disappointed in our first restaurant visit to lisbon. Perhaps this review is for those visiting lisbon, whose first language isn't Portuguese.

When we came, we asked for a seat for 2, then had to go to a table that was available. The waitress did clear it but she didn't bother wiping it clean so there was still crumps on table. Noticed waitress did wipe down another table of a customer that came after us. I noticed the customer did point to the table we were seated, and the waitress nodded. Afterwards, we were left sitting for another 5 mins, even though we had told the waitress 10 mins earlier that we were ready to order.

As we left, the waitress just looked at us and that was it.as soon as we left, the customer went to the table we had so i feel like they were hoping we leave so they could give the table to another customer

All in all, we spend close to 20 mins, and left still hungry, with bad start to the day. I don't know if it's a language barrier (I'm a canadian) or communication challenges, but it really seems they did not want us there so felt like they were hoping we leave(which we did)

Update 10/13: I saw the owner's comments. I think that make sense for the system that is being used. I do want to note that we did specifically told the waitress 1 or 2 times we were ready to order, so at that moment, maybe she could had clarified that we needed to order at the counter first. That said, i do understand system is designed so the 2-3 waiter/waitress take care of bringing out food, clearing and don't take orders, but a clarification would had been quite helpful.

The misunderstanding was unfortunate, as tbh, my wife had her concerns about the cafe, which couldn't be dispell. All the best...

Hi! I really rarely write a bad reviews because always trying to understand the stuff workers as long as I work in restaurant industry for many years

But today will be an exception. We came for lunch at noon. After placing our order, we waited almost 40 minutes for it. I watched as the waitress walked with our order to another table, handed my dish to another person, looked at the check in her hand, and returned with the rest of our order to the kitchen. After that, disappointed, I waited another 10 minutes and went over to ask how much longer we had to wait. After a few minutes of waiting at the counter, they finally noticed me, and was just indifferently refunded for the two dishes we didn't wait for. The coffee was good, the croissants were not bad (by the way, I asked for them after the meal, but they brought them out right away. Thank you, at least we had something to eat)

Things could have been better and I wouldn't be writing a review now if at least someone had approached us and apologized for the long wait or warned us about it or if the staff had been more interested in their guests. My order was given to another guest obviously because they forgot...

Excelent cappuccino, coffee and bread but run away from salads.

Review rating reflects the poor quality of the salad versus the price and the inability to fix the problem when present with it.

Ordered a roasted avocado salad.

The salad came with half small grilled avocado, regular mixed lettuce, store bought dressing, and some lousy excuse of tofu and roasted chickpeas, which were too dry, like if they were made three days ago, hard to chew.

I sent the salad back stating which it was not eatable, which were not, because the chickpeas were bad.

The staff apologized brought me the salad with the same chickpeas on the side, they just put the same chickpeas on a pan with butter and gave them back. They were bad.

I ate the salad which was sad and gave the chickpeas back stating they were still bad.

after trying the chickpeas, the staff apologized agreeing the salad was poor and they are soon going to change the menu.

The staff said the best they could do was to offer a discount of 10% or bring another salad.

Bill came with no discount.

Please fix the fume extraction, if the kitchen is working it’s impossible to be inside having a coffee without having to...
