We went to this restaurant during our stay at Lisbon twice. The review below is for our first visit which was so good that we decided to go there for the second time.
Kudos to Michael (the manager/host) and Kctiane (our waiter). They were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable and made our experience a very pleasant one. (FYI: Both spoke English).
We had the local red wine (Assobio Esporão) which tasted good and was reasonably priced.
For dinner, we had Frango assado com kimchi and Pad Thai de legumes . Both dishes were fantastic.
Overall, a very pleasant place for dining out.
(Note: as mentioned earlier, the above review was for our first visit. In our second visit, the service was poor due to having an inexperienced waitress. Thanks for Kctiane working that night, she took over our table and made things right. The restaurant manager that evening(who was not Michael) offered a complimentary glass of wine for our troubles. However, I noticed that we were charged for the complimentary glass of wine :(. After bringing up this with the manager, she was nice to take off the price of two glasses of wine from our bill). Other than the service issue, everything...
Read moreFirst of all I want to say that I’m an all eater, I enjoy almost everything which today came as a surprise for my fiancée that has never seen me struggle eating food before. I ordered the chicken with rice and black beans (and a click of avocado purée). The chicken felt extremely bland and weirdly because of the skin, it tasted and felt raw. I struggled eating it but I didn’t want to be rude so I forced myself to eat the rest. Now it’s time to pay; I asked if cash was alright, which it was. All in all the price was 41€ so I handed the waiter a 50€ bill. As we sat waiting for the change it never came, the waiter started taking orders from other tables and socialize with colleagues. I wanted to ask for the change since I want to be the one deciding the tip or at least have the chance so that I can say “oh keep the change!” But instead we were put in a awkward situation where asking “excuse me but what happened with the change (or what ever)” would feel weird and bad. We have arrived at our hotel hours later and still waiting on that change..🙄 Anyways the beetroot hummus...
Read moreDelicious food, loving atmosphere but a slow staff.
Selllva is a vegetarian themed restaurant although they have some limited meat/fish options.
It's a beautifully decorated space with an exotic environment that builds up on the restaurant's name (Selva means jungle jn portuguese).
As a first timer, i absolutely loved the Nasi Goreng which was delicious and i woukd definitely reccomend it. It's easily their best dish.
For dessert i had the wheat cake which i thought to be a tad underwhelming flavour wise.
The only negative aspect was the staff's long time of response.
Several staff workers passed by me and even with all the hints i gave, they never seemed to notice that i was waiting for them to come to me.
I had to call them, which is something that i always try to avoid doing.
Something to be worked on.
Otherwise, Selllva would deserve a 5 star rating in my book.
Good food, good vibes. Very...
