We were tired after a morning of lots of walking & wanted some place close for lunch so chose Baamcafe which is less than 100 m from our hotel. I expected a tourist joint with barely adequate food & service; how wrong I was!
It turns out that its clientele is local office workers looking for a quick, cheap lunch. The back room is large holding at least 60 guests. At around 12:50 we got one of the last small tables & while we were there, there was a constant line waiting for tables which turned over fast. We ordered one of the lunch specials & a caldo verde plus half a bottle of house wine. All arrived at our table in under 2 minutes!
