Ronny and Dhillan are the best—so friendly, accommodating, and always making sure everyone is having a great time.

Whether you want to sit and enjoy a glass or pick up a bottle to take home, atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with great music and a solid selection of wines. Plus, they stay open late, which is rare for Alfama, making it a perfect place to end the night.

We rounded out a great stay in Lisbon with an evening drink at the Tipsy Turtle. The drinks and cheese board were great, and the best part was the owner / manager / barman. He was really knowledgeable, lots of good advice about wine, port and the broad range of spirits and after dinner drinks. My wife ordered Doces Traditionais, Keira Baixa, Licorice Pastel de Nata. We were excited to check this place out due to the high reviews but I'm not sure where they're coming from. We ordered 4€ vinho verde and 7.50€ but were charged 8€ and 8.50€ respectively. When confronted, the server said it was because he gave us better stuff. I'm not sure why he didn't ask if that was okay first. It feels very disingenuous and I would not recommend it.
