We went to grab brunch at Bar da Piscina around 10:30am on a Saturday morning as we wanted to be sure that we weren’t shopping while hungry at the Thieves’/Flea Market (Feira Da Ladra) nearby. We were informed that at this time, only the breakfast set (€6.95 including orange juice and coffee) was available. I guess the waiter sensed my hunger and quickly offered the choice of hamburgers or the Portuguese beef (Bitoque), which I immediately said yes to!
The food was amazing and the price was really cheap. We were full and endured several more hours of walking through Alfama all the way back to Santos without so much as a stop for water. The staff was super friendly too and ensured that we had an enjoyable meal. At the time of visit, they did accept cards but the terminals were down for the day so we had to pay in cash.
