Tokyo Lisboa — Restaurant in Lisbon

The WORST club I have ever been to in my entire life. I arrived with Erasmus Life Lisboa as I was at a pub crawl event with them before this. When we arrived, we were given these plastic cards as free entry. At NO POINT were we told at entry that we would also need these to EXIT the club. After spending 25 minutes in the club (it was awful…bad music bad vibes etc) me and my two new friends (met at ELL event) decided to leave and go somewhere else. They slipped out the door a minute or two before me. When I tried to exit the security man very aggressively pushed me back, pointing me over to a lady at a ticket booth. The lady VERY aggressively told me that I needed my card to exit. After searching and searching my bag for the card, I realised that I had accidentally lost the card somewhere inside the club (I think it fell out of my bag at some point). I explained this to her and was met with “I DONT CARE YOU PAY €50 OR YOU FIND YOUR CARD”. That’s right, I had to pay €50 to LEAVE a club that I was only inside of for 25 MINUTES and that I didn’t PAY to get in to in the first place (the pub crawl was €23 which covered entry of club). I am a student. I don’t have this kind of money. I explained this to them and was met with such nasty aggression. I was completely alone as my friends weren’t allowed back in to find me. This was a horrible experience for a young woman, especially as it was my first time going out in Lisbon. This place is such a scam and the people who work here are the rudest, least sympathetic people ever. I would never EVER treat a young lady like this…no matter where I’m employed! Charged me 8 euros for entrance which was fine, but told me to calm down when I was not even drunk yet and simply asked my friends if they really wanted to go in. Burly guys at the entrance trying to intimidate us when we were not doing anything. One of my friends was denied entry at first for no reason and I simply whispered "If he's not going in, I'm not either" and yet again a security guard came over to yell at me and threaten me. Fantastic little venue with a great band. Cover charge was higher than what I expected, but the price of the cover was reimbursed with drink tickets for the same amount... And since i was going to get drinks anyway, this worked out perfectly.

The Afrogroove Collective appears to play every Saturday night and they're worth the trip there. I think a dj plays after them, but my small group and I left rather early...
