When planning a visit to this restaurant, making a reservation is essential. The popularity and quality of the establishment mean that it often fills up quickly, so securing a spot in advance ensures you'll have the chance to experience everything it has to offer without any disappointment.
Upon arrival, you'll be struck by the sheer beauty of the restaurant. The decor is elegant, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're there for a special occasion or just a nice night out, the ambiance enhances the enjoyment of your meal.
The staff's attentiveness is one of the highlights of the visit. From the moment you step through the door, the service is impeccable. The personnel are not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly observant, ensuring that your needs are met promptly and efficiently throughout your meal.
A delightful touch is the offering of champagne or similar aperitifs as a welcome gesture. This thoughtful detail adds a layer of sophistication and makes you feel valued as a guest. It's small touches like this that set the restaurant apart and elevate the overall experience.
One of the most impressive aspects of the dining experience is the presentation of the meat. In our case, we chose a T-Bone steak, and before it was grilled, the staff brought it to our table to show us. This personalized approach not only assures you of the quality of the meat but also adds a unique and engaging element to the meal.
The side dishes are just as remarkable as the main courses. Each accompaniment is prepared with care, offering flavors that complement the meat perfectly. The variety and quality of the sides ensure that every part of your meal is enjoyable.
While the restaurant is on the pricier side, it is well worth it for the culinary experience provided. If you're looking for a place to indulge in a top-tier meat feast, this restaurant delivers in spades. The quality of the food, the presentation, and the overall dining experience justify the cost.
Wine enthusiasts will be pleased with the extensive selection available. The wine list features a vast array of choices, and the staff provide excellent recommendations to match your meal perfectly. Their expertise in wine pairing adds another layer of enjoyment to the dining experience.
Overall, we left the restaurant completely satisfied. Every aspect of our visit, from the ambiance and service to the food and wine, exceeded our expectations. It's a place that promises a memorable meal and delivers on that promise with style...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to returning to Sala de Corte after a great experience last year, but unfortunately, this visit was a huge letdown from start to finish.
When we arrived, things already felt a bit chaotic. We were given the food menu but not the drinks menu. Shortly after, a server came over and asked what we wanted to eat — before we had even ordered anything to drink. I asked to see both the drinks and wine menus, but only received the general drinks menu. No wine list.
We were told the T-bone steak (ordered medium) would take around 40 minutes to prepare, which was fine. About 10 minutes after placing our food order, we finally got to order our drinks. The server said she would bring the wine menu, but it never came.
We waited a long time for our cocktails, which still hadn’t arrived by the time the food was served. The steak didn’t come out too early — the cocktails just took far too long. Right after the food arrived, I asked to order a glass of red wine, still without having seen the wine list. The server recommended one, and I went with it. I can’t say for sure whether it was the most expensive glass, but €25 for a single glass of wine honestly feels like daylight robbery.
The steak itself was another letdown: it was undercooked, almost raw and cold in the center, even though we had clearly asked for it medium. We ate it anyway because we were hungry, but it was far from what we expected from a restaurant of this level.
When the bill arrived, we were charged for a 1.1 kg T-bone. That’s simply not accurate — I have a reference photo from last year’s visit of a real 1.1 kg steak, and this one was clearly much smaller. It honestly felt like we may have been given the wrong cut. There were two T-bones available when we arrived and none left when we left, so that wouldn’t surprise me.
Also, unlike last time, we weren’t shown the cut of meat before it was cooked — even though the server said she would. That used to be part of the experience, and it was completely skipped.
All in all, the evening felt disorganized, overpriced, and underwhelming. We walked away disappointed and with the feeling that we paid for something we never...
Read moreFirstly, the meat and food is sublime. We are working through the list of the best global steaks and this was a fantastic experience and contender. We sat at the bar and watched the chefs work their magic which was an incredible. FOOD - 5*
The hostess meet and greet was friendly and polite. They were accommodating when we wanted to compare the tables available and we were super grateful. The staff spoke several languages and talked us through the menu showing us the cuts available. However, the service during the dining experience was sub par. Alcohol and food orders are taken by separate waiters and our food order was taken before we managed to flag down our waiter for the wine order.
The wine is taken away by the waiter to be topped up periodically however, there were many circumstances where we were sat with empty glasses for 10/15 minutes at a time. I see the attempt for a great experience but the opposite is achieved. Given the staff restraints I would have appreciated having the bottle instead to top myself up.
There were two errors in our food order when the food arrived, I noticed that the waitress did not take notes of the order. She also mentioned to me that my meat could be returned to the grill if I would like, after seeing the point to which it had been grilled, it was later forgotten although it would have been a nice touch/expectation to follow up on this with me. Lastly, given the time of night, we requested a decaf coffee and watched the barista at the coffee machine make a caffeinated coffee - if we didn’t notice this it would have kept us up all night which, is not acceptable.
We sat with empty glasses and dirty plates after having finished our meal for 15 minutes before flagging a waiter to please clear our plates, top up drinks and provide the dessert menu, again, sadly unacceptable.
In short, the food is fantastic and the restaurant is well worth a visit however, the staff need support to deliver a 5* dining experience (which is what this calibre of food and luxury restaurant deserves).
We look forward to returning hopefully once the service...
